What do I love about love?

For starters, love is a feeling you can feel for anyone, it could be for a partner, or family, or friends.
Love is a feeling that can transform itself into emotions, and make you act like a reckless person, but also, can show you the wonders of the people around you, and make you want you to be around them without asking anything in return. It can make you give more without expecting to be retributed in any way.

The way love has made my life better is something difficult to put into words. And I have to say that I've been single for a very long time. But for me, love is more than having a partner or being in love. Love is sharing with your family, love is to keep your friends around you and share their success, be happy for them. I can say that I love my best friends in a way I've never experienced in my teenage years, and looking back at those years, the people I met in high school weren't my friends at all.
And that is important to say, because, maybe those experiences I had back then made me believe that, as my mom use to say, there are no a true friend in this life of ours. I disagree, of course, because I found amazing people in my college journey. If I have to tell you about my love life, I guess I've never found the one. And maybe, I have no suffer from that kind of love. There have been crushes, but no one really special. If I try to recall, the only person who broke my heart was a girl when I was fifteen, but I was a teenager, and teenagers got their hearts broken a lot of times. She really hurt me because I felt like she had abandoned me, although later she apologized saying she had no clue that she would make me feel like that. Possibly, that was the reason I never got close to anyone in high school.
After those years of high school, I started college, and learned new things. I met people that are still by my side, that love me for who I am, and what I am. Those people showed me that love is cheering the happiness of your friends. Love is to tell the truth even when this hurts. Love is to stay up late at night when your friends need to talk because they had a bad day. Love is to be there when your friends need you, when your family needs you, and you need yourself and take a time to heal in solitude. But also, love is to trust in those that trust you. Love is being yourself without being afraid of getting rejected. Love is so many things, but primarily, love is to learn to love yourself, to love your demons, your virtues, and defects. Love is love.
P.S: Important to say that love is also what moves me to write.
love is the energy capable of creating anything. I agree that the important thing is to love yourself. Your writing is very good and I like it.
Thank you. I think many people forget that. Loving yourself must be your priority, and I learned that through the years.
Love is everything. It keeps you living and moving. Love radiates also, so when you show love to one person, that person also spreads it.
I'm agree with you, when you're happy, you're capable of spreading love around, and that is a beautiful thing. Bitterness comes and goes, but you can choose to give love instead. Thanks for commenting.
