Good day, my dear Hivers!
Today, I'd like to share my experience and express my gratitude as a working student at CRMC.
At first, my parents were against me becoming a working student because they believed it would be too difficult to balance work and study. But I insisted because, aside from wanting to contribute to my school tuition, I also wanted to study and explore more.
So, I talked to my dad and convinced him to let me become a working student. The great thing about it is that my whole tuition is free.
The Start of My Journey
My mom even helped me apply, and after a month, I got a call. It was during the summer after I graduated Grade 12 when the working coordinator contacted me.
In my application letter, I initially wrote that I wanted to take up Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, even though I’m not really into math because numbers confuse me. I only chose it because my dad preferred it.
After I was called by the working coordinator, I started my duties that same afternoon. Unexpectedly, the working student I replaced suggested that I take up Psychology instead since it’s hassle-free and doesn’t have too many units. Some of the office staff also encouraged me.
That’s how I ended up as a Psychology student. Psychology was actually my second option before I was convinced to pursue it, and I saw that moment as a sign that Psychology was meant for me. I’ve never regretted choosing this course and career.
My Work Experience
Since I wrote BSA in my application letter, I was initially assigned to the Accounting Office. I worked there for two years as a working student before being promoted or transferred to the Cashier’s Office, where I worked for about seven months.
Even though I’m not into math, I enjoyed balancing records and figuring out discrepancies. It was truly a privilege to serve in the Finance Department.
Our General Meeting
By the way, we recently had a general meeting for the Working Student Organization (WSO). Here are my fellow working students, who are assigned to various offices and departments.
We know each other, though not everyone, especially the new ones, who are easy to spot because they wear white t-shirts. The uniforms we wore during the meeting are identical in design, as they are the official WSO uniforms. We are required to wear them during general meetings. We also had snacks during the meeting.
After the meeting, we went outside to take some photos.
One reason for the pictures was for documentation purposes, but it was also nice to gather together and see how many of us there are.
And that’s all for this blog of mine, my dear Hivers. Thank you for reading!
I'm glad you had a great time with your friends.
Thank you! Spending time with them really made my day extra special. 😊
Way to go be! It's hard at first, just go on and reach your goal and you will reap the fruit of your labor.
Thank you, @mariecuriosity ! Your words inspire me to keep going. 🌟
Being working student is not easy. It needs lots of time management if you're also studying. Padayon!❤️
True! It’s a constant balancing act, but I’m learning as I go. Thank you for the motivation, @chrmshly ! ❤️
