Sunday ... "work" ride?!

miniatura.jpg

Hello!

These last two weekends have been extremely occupied, as we had a lot of work to do and May is almost here, and it's getting busy for us.

Many days of celebration are coming, starting with our wedding on Friday April 28, then a trip to Varadero, Mother's Day and then my husband's birthday on the 17th and mine on the 18th, although we will celebrate it far apart, because he is 50 years old and I wanted him to celebrate it with his family, but... when it came to buying the bus tickets, it was impossible to get them for both of us, so we bought his and at least his mom, dad and brother can be there, since they haven't been able to see each other for months. Obviously, we wanted to be together, but it was impossible. I'm glad we were able to get it, at least for him.

The thing is, as the month of May is going to be so scattered, we had to fulfill a group of previous commitments. Among them, the delivery to a client of the architectural design of a residence on the coast of Guanabo, a beach area located in Havana. For that, we want to print the project dossier with a good finish, so we took a little getaway on Sunday, to "El Vedado".

There, we were to meet with an architect who has a printing business, among other related services, to see the quality of the paper and print samples. We went to the Pabellón Cuba (Cuba Pavilion), a place frequently used for fairs and concerts.

On this occasion a group of artisans and artists were gathered there, in an Expo fair, with samples of their work and items for sale. There were also some non-profit organizations showing the work they do with the care of the environment.

The Pabellón Cuba is a very interesting site located on one of the most central streets in Havana, 23rd Avenue. It was built specifically as an exhibition space and its areas are joined to form a tour that passes through open, semi-open, closed and very closed spaces. We went directly to the open area, where the small businesses were located.

Although it was supposed to be "something quick" 😅 it was impossible for us not to stop at several stands to admire some very cool works, the use of techniques for decorating pots, some clothes and handmade jewelry.
We stopped at plant stand, because Osvie is a fan of having a lot of plants in the backyard, so at home there is no lack of adeniums, nolinas and several other species...

We passed by several stands that recovered material such as glass bottles and used them to make household utensils, such as glasses, incense holders, trays and even decorative ornaments.
We took the cards from other printing stores in the place. We had already spent a long time there, and we had not yet met the person we went to see because it was very entertaining to see so many curious things that reflect the creativity of the Cuban people.

This time we didn't buy anything, we are not in the mood for any extra expenses 😅 other than some little sweets made up of peanuts, raisins and chocolate, like snacks, which contain no extra sugars.

Although I'm lying, we did buy some. We got ourselves a pair of chopsticks to eat with! So we are practicing to learn the technique of feeding ourselves with these peculiar utensils.(I lose my patience a bit and catch the fork.)

I missed Camalleri, a small company that produces artisan perfumes (I would not have been able to restrain myself from buying, because the scent of their forget-me-not perfume is just like that, really unforgettable.)

Finally, we saw the group we were looking for and talked a bit about the job. As the owner is a good design professional, we had that as a guarantee as well. We agreed on several topics, and we saw some very curious products that they are proposing based on PVC and printed vinyl, sublimation techniques and textile printing.

So the work part for this Sunday was done! 😂

The highlight of our walk was when we saw a stand of the Raptor Rescue Foundation with a hawk, which they explained to us had been born in captivity. This foundation rescues birds that were damaged either by natural forces or by human intervention, cares for them, cures them and then, if possible, releases them again.

Osvie as a little kid, asked if he could "carry it" and was told yes. So to say goodbye to this "work" ride, I leave you with these images of Osvie and the hawk.

Did the Cuba Pavilion open, or was it just for the holiday week? I have been there before and it has been closed. I love Vedado!
By the way, congratulations on your wedding 💍

Hi Jordy, the Pabellón Cuba was only open for this Entrepreneurship Fair. 😟I hope so, because by this time Art for Mom is almost ready to start... and now with the fuel issue, I see it more difficult...

What a great post my friend. That ride was great 🙌.

I really liked some of the artwork that was in some of the photos, especially the ones with the bottles.🤩.

😅, About the chopsticks 🥢 you have to have patience to use them. I have tried them and I despair.😅. I immediately take the spoon.😅.

And the hawk, It is a very elegant animal.🤩 surprised me with the nails it has. If it wasn't for the glove, it would hurt his arm.

And congratulations in advance🎉, only 2 days left for your big moment. From here I send you my most sincere congratulations and best wishes. 🤗🎉.

Well friend, have a great day full of joy. Best regards 👍👍👍.

Hi Oniel, yes in this stand we stopped for a while to look at the work. It is paper over the bottles, it is varnished and can be washed perfectly plus they resist heat.

but he was no cooperating

Haha 😆, he was no cooperating at all.

I love these blog posts you are doing. These are very fun and refreshing.

In that moment he received a call from his mom and that's all... 🤭🤣👌
Thanks!! Your opinion it's super important for me! 🤗

oh, a very large expo fair, I see that they had a great time ☺️ I really liked the things they sold and you can see them in the photos
