One Thing I Regret and One I Don’t Regret

I regret of not knowing about BTc when it came out.

In the year 2008, although I wasn’t opportune to use a phone, I was sensible then, and that’s the year Bitcoin (BTC) came out. The farming — I mean the faucet games — were ongoing from that year to 2011 and 2012. By then, I had already started using a phone, but still, I didn’t hear or know anything about crypto. Imagine if I had known then and joined people to mine BTC and earn it for free; I would have been a very big boy by now.

During those easy mining and farming times, I heard that a lot of people got 10 to 20 BTC free of charge. I keep imagining how their lives must be now if they didn’t sell off.
Back in those days, my phone usage was mainly for chatting on social media, burning data subscriptions, and wasting time because, honestly, there was no single benefit to those activities.

I regret this big time. Each time I think of such an opportunity and how I didn’t know about it, I hiss and wish I had known.

I’m Not Regretting That I Went to School.

In Nigeria, which is my country, we have a common saying: “School is a scam.” This phrase emanates from the current situation where one finishes school and still finds it very hard to secure a job with their certificate.

Although my case seems to be heading that way, I have, in one way or another, benefited greatly from the knowledge I gained in school, even to the extent of using my certificate to earn a living.

You know, it’s very hard — almost impossible — for one to express themselves clearly in both writing and speaking (in English) without a bit of education. That’s evident in Nigeria today. Most of us here writing in this blockchain are all products of education, and I always imagine where I would have been if I didn’t get even a bit of schooling. It would have been a disaster.

I remember a certain time I went to the bank, and one customer in the hall was told to write down his complaint on paper. He couldn’t do that, so he beckoned me to help him out. I’m sure that’s one of the people who didn’t get the opportunity to go to school. Or perhaps he’s among those who labeled education a scam and, therefore, didn’t further their studies.

I’m not regretting that I went to school.

Thanks!
