*I did not want to share the name of the store and wanted to try it out again after a few weeks since I think they just opened and the staff might still be new to this.

Time = money

Time passed by so quickly and I've only uploaded a few blog posts this month. Seems like I'm getting busier or lazier. LOL. I want to believe that its the former because that means that my time is being spent productively whether on or off chain, either one is good. Either way, I need to increase my publishing numbers to be able to surpass my 3K HP target for 2024. I feel that I have renewed enthusiasm for writing since I began another draft a few minutes after publishing the last one, so I am hoping that my writing slump had gone into silent mode for the rest of the year; crossing my fingers on this one.

Weekend vibes

Interestingly, the weather was really good the whole day; no rain came and the heat was bearable. It has been a really refreshing weekend, so far (crossing my fingers 🤞🤞🤞). So, we ran out of bread last night (Saturday night) and I went to the grocery to get some. We love bread and snacks and often run out no matter how much I bring home from the store. Makes me wonder if someone was giving it away to the neighbors. Hmmm... Anyways, I'm not suspecting anyone of any wrongdoing. Just letting my imagination run loose once in a while and see where it leads to. LOL.

Bad Boba

So, I got my bread and snacks and was about to head back home, but I heard my name being called by someone or something... Spooky, noh? I looked up and I see who it was. It was the coffee shop that I had recently discovered. I walked towards it like I was in a trance and just followed my feet going up to the second floor, one slow step at a time. There were two places with live bands at the ground floor so I was not in a hurry as I was enjoying the music. Curiously, I did not go in and walked past the coffee shop I was supposed to visit.

Surprisingly, I found myself looking at the menu of the other coffee shop, which was more like a flavored coffee / tea / boba milk tea place. The prices were reasonable and I was already craving for something cold so I ordered a medium sized Taro milk tea at 90 pesos (US$1.54). It was a reasonable price. It took long enough for my milk tea to arrive but that was not my beef with it. I was more disappointed with the experience when I sipped - I already knew it the moment it touched my tongue.

You see, I love milk tea just as much as I loved my #coffee - even attending a seminar on how to put up a milk tea business at one point - so I know my milk tea from end to end. Sadly, this was getting a low 3 out of 10 if I had to score it. The boba was under-cooked and bland while the chunks of ice made it difficult to get to the bottom. I did not like it at all. The only part that I liked was that it was cold, which I could have gotten by putting ice cubes in a glass of water.

I won't name the shop because I want to give them a chance to redeem themselves when I return and try it out again. I know what it is like to open a new food business and would like to give them the benefit of the doubt. And that was the highlight of last night.

Conclusion

My evening could have been better if I had just gotten in the right door, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. And I will end here. I hope you are all doing good and having a better time than what I had last night. Eat a cake, go play with your children or siblings if you don't have kids, maybe attend church service or go to the spa to have a massage. It's the weekend so have a blast everyone.

Love and peace,

Hindi ba masyado matamis Yung taro milk tea.. feeling ko sobra tamis nya hehe..

Para sa akin kasi ang masarap na taro milk tea ay balanced taste. Not too sweet not too bland. 😀

To be honest some coffee shops have a nice ambience but the taste of their drinks and foods is not that good 🥲 .... But anyway maybe their employee is just new and still learning, I hope to have an update the next time you try.

Yes, I agree. I was really surprised that I was not able to take photos. Maybe, next time.

oooo do they have chagee where you are? If you do, I would recommend that

We don't have that here. Would be nice if there were more options to choose from.

Owh I hope you do have more options soon then :c or maybe it's not there cuz of those hurricanes and stuff there im not sure

Of course, more options are welcome. We do have a bunch of milk tea shops already selling here but the more, the merrier. 😀

for sure :D maybe u can open up a shop

Hmmm... that would be nice. 😀

I hope Milk tea industry can have some sort of certification where there should actually be brewed tea instead of just syrup and powdered flavorings hehe. Would you be able to say if they were selling 'legitimate tea'?

I was so shaken by the "quality" of what I was drinking that I didn't notice if it was brewed. It's definitely not at par with the more established ones. Even the sidestreet milk tea vendors selling at 1/3 the price is better than the one I drank. 😄
