Hello, my Hive family!
My sister and family visited me last weekend.
They live in another city, 70 km away from me, so we rarely meet.
They arrived at me at lunchtime, so my brother-in-law suggested we go have lunch at a cozy restaurant.
I suggested the Charlie restaurant, which is located here in the village next door.
I recommended this restaurant because it is my favorite restaurant.
Very cozy place in a quiet location with a cute little garden area.
This restaurant was built in 1990, we came here a lot when I was young, the cuisine is excellent.
I lived in the city at the time, but we always traveled here by car and we didn’t have lunch or dinner in the city.
And now that I live in the neighboring village, we often ordered pizza and a menu from here.
The exterior of the restaurant was also built to my liking, I love the old bricks on the house wall, the red flower pots, the old wooden windows.
I really like the old style, more than the modern architecture.
It's like an old farmhouse.
Upstairs there, I know there are 12 guest rooms.
It was wonderful, warm weather, + 17 degrees, we even thought we would have lunch on the terrace in the garden of the restaurant.
We parked in front of the restaurant, but it was very strange that there are no cars in the parking lot, only the company car.
It was the car with which the food was delivered to the houses during the foods, pizzas in the pandemic period when all the restaurants were closed.
We got out of the car and saw through the windows that there was darkness in the restaurant.
We went to the door and saw that they had put out a note that the restaurant was closed for remodeling.
But I think there will be no remodeling here, it will be closed permanently.
Due to Covid-19, many catering units in Hungary have been destroyed or closed permanently.
We were very sad that we couldn’t go into the restaurant and it might never open again.
A beautiful memory remains in my heart.

Ugh. Covid has been brutal to the restaurant industry around the globe. This looked like such a cute place.
Hopefully, this will all be over soon and we can get back to living like we used to.
So sorry for your loss. Hang in there!
Cheers!
Yes, Covid-19 has ruined a lot of businesses.
Although we have 2-3 vaccinations, people don't go to restaurants, at least here in Hungary, they order food to their homes!
Thank you very much for visiting and the nice comment!
Greetings from Hungary!!
Yes; everyone is doing the same here... Ordering out and having it delivered to home. Not me, though. If I'm going to eat at home, I'm going to cook it. lol
I was going to visit Hungary in 2020. A quick trip to Budapest from the start of my trip in Istanbul, but Covid ruined that. I made it to Istanbul this past October, but sadly, could not get to Hungary. I'm definitely going to get there in 2022 or 2023.
Besides the capital, are there other areas you might recommend for a visit to Hungary?
Cheers!
I am sorry that we did not manage to get to Hungary, we are free to travel to certain countries where there is no lockdown.
There are a lot of wonderful places in Hungary, I will send you a link to the most famous sights.
