Hello everyone! It’s your girl, @katezauka. I’m so excited to share my experience from last weekend with this amazing community for the very first time.
First and foremost, I must say that I’m happy to be part of a platform like this, which gives me the opportunity to pour out my weekend experiences—whether good or bad. This means a lot to me because, in the past, whenever I tried sharing my experiences with family or friends, they either made fun of me or didn’t take my feelings seriously. It felt as though they didn’t understand how I felt. But here, I believe I’ll meet like-minded friends who will appreciate and relate to my stories.
Now, let’s dive into my weekend experience. In a nutshell, it was both hectic and fun!
I woke up on Saturday morning around 4:30 am. to attend early morning Mass at 5:00 am. After Mass, I quickly took my bath and headed to work, which started at exactly 8:00 am. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much time for myself at work that day because the workload was overwhelming. Despite the challenges, I pushed through and managed to close at 2:00 p.m., hoping to go home and get some well-deserved rest.
However, when I got home at 2:30 pm., just as I finished taking my bath and was about to take a nap, one of my friends walked in. She informed me that we’d been nominated to buy items for making a birthday cake and groceries for cooking rice, as a mutual friend was turning 30 the next day. I was exhausted and needed rest, but given the situation, I had no other option. So, I dressed up, grabbed my bag, and headed out with her to make the purchases.
We went from shop to shop to buy all the needed items, and I struggled to keep up because I was so tired. By the time we got home, it was almost 5:00 pm. and guess what? It was time for choir practice! I quickly freshened up and rushed to church because I hate being late.
The choir practice lasted until 7:00 pm. Afterward, I tried to sneak off to my room to lie down for a few minutes, but it was impossible. A portion of the preparations for the birthday celebration had been assigned to me, so I got straight to work. The task took about five solid hours, and I didn’t get to sleep until after midnight. It was such a short night because I woke up very early the next day to finish what was left undone.
Sunday morning came, and despite the fatigue, it was a beautiful day to celebrate the goodness of the Lord. I prayed, quickly handled some house chores, and got ready for church by 6:00 am. I made it on time and attended the service. Fortunately for me, my fun begins immediately after the service where we gets to snap pictures as we await the celebration to begin😊
After having little fun, we got busy with the final preparations for the birthday celebration. The event was fun-filled and went on till late in the evening.
That’s how my weekend unfolded. Starting with a hectic pace but ending with a lot of fun. That’s why I titled this post “A Hectic but Fun Weekend.”
