EDUCATION IS LOOSING ITS VALUE

The future of education here in Nigeria can not be predicted as the youths have developed a theory that school is a scam.

As funny as this may sound, if you look at the current situation of the country you will see that the level of jobless graduates is really high and this has changed the mindset of most people to the fact that school is a scam.
Imagine going through nursery, primary, junior secondary, senior secondary which will take about 16yrs of you life couples with extra 4 years in the university or in some cases 5 the breaks and Strick's are not included that may take about 2/3 year depending on the cause of the cause of the strike, then 1year national youth service Corp which is compulsory except you are above the age of 30 so in total you are spending approximately 20/22 yrs of your life in school just to come out and start job hunting, Annoying part of it Is The fact that there are no jobs out there and the few available jobs have been preserved for some certain set of person who are not as learned or educated as you are.
After considering this factors most people just go to school for the paper and not what they are been taught in school because they already believe at the end of it all the percentage of them getting a good paying job or any job at all is 30/100%, so calculating with this odd most people decide to learn a skill so after school they can come no home and work for them self.

With all this I will say Education in Nigeria is losing its purpose or will I say value gradually. When they say children are the leaders of tomorrow, I shake my head in disagreement because the children have decided not to learn because it's more like a waste of their time.
In summary I will say Education may go extinct in years to come if the setting and mindset of children are not changed from now.
