RE: Weekend-engagement topic week 50: The natural world

in Weekend Experiences4 years ago (edited)

How cool is it that last week I posted a screen grab photo of one of the coolest Videos my Dashcam has ever recorded. And now this week G-Dog has a photo #weekend-engagement where it can be seen again.

Let me tell you, over 20+ years of recording my travels, I have had some good screen shots. (and bad)

The power of Nature is amazing, and a Lightning Strike is one of those powers. We have all seen them. But I have also felt them. Several times I have been within a stones throw, a hundred feet of a Strike. It takes your breath away. Leaves your ears ringing, and your eyes temporary blinded.

This photo was taken on I-20 west of Dallas / Ft. Worth TX. 2017.

Love the smell that hangs in the sky after thunder bolt hits, more so the mushrooms that pop up next day.... yummy!

I smelled something funny... But maybe it was cuz I almost pooped my pants. Those close calls are scary.

@galenkp ain't skeerd... Just a knucklhead. But then I thinks G-Dog could ride the lightning. He is kinda my hero and all...

Ride The Lightning...

Thor perhaps has an axe to grind, perhaps Thor speaks Groot or is it @krazzytrukker

Thoughts with you during time of not having Mom, loss of someone close always bites deep...

I don't know what to say other than amazing shot.

Nothing like getting good mileage on a photo I guess. Lol.

I remember as a kid a lightning bolt struck within meters, or so, of me and hit the ground which was pretty scary. Although, in truth it could have actually hit me and maybe that's why my noggin is a little messed up, you know, knucklehead-style. Lol.

Next week I'll do a topic for which you will not be able to use this image. Or maybe I won't...

!ENGAGE 20

Forgive Me for not engaging more. Not feeling very Typ-ee chatty...

My Mom, (stepmom) the one who raised me, the on who did the heavy lifting and set me on a good path in life, my friend, passed away Friday morning.

I have been out in the woods, brush hogging, clearing and burning.

Therapy, just being alone with Nature,

And of course, sharp blades, mowers, chainsaws, hydraulics, 12ga. shotgun (for snakes)

I'm sorry to hear that Randy, condolences.

Sometimes keeping occupied can help in those moments so a little hard work is a good thing I guess. On the other hand one could choose to make like a beaver and chew some branches. Either way would be legit.

Thank you for your engagement on this post, you have recieved ENGAGE tokens.

If I didn't know any better I'd think the majority of your life is viewed from behind the transparency of fine granules of sand particles.

Anyone tuned in who doesn't know how glass is made likely has no clue wtf the above sentence means
