Wow it's an amazing feeling to be here, and also posting for the first time it's such a great thing for me. I believe this contest was made for me cause everything about the whole thing is first time event. I'd love to be involve with more this, thank you.
How I got my first pet
Not quite long after I graduated from college early 2021, I thought of heading back home cause i didn't go home through out my final year in college. though, my college wasn't far from home they were both in the same city, Lagos Nigeria to be precise. But still I don't usually go to college from home I'd rather stay behind in the college hostel or go to my aunt's place that's even more closer to my school.
Not quite long before I finished my final exam, I said to myself that I can't be home alone cause all my brothers weren't around to keep my company as at that time. So I made a few calls asking about how to own and get a pet (dog). So I got linked up with someone and that person eventually came to my rescue and hooked me up with a vet. We made a mini business call on how I get a pet. Of course I can't just go back home like that and not keep myself busy with something, at least before I get a good job.
Few days past I got a call back from the vet asking me to come over to their office and get the available pet that was requested by me. When I got there I saw a grey hound cute puppy and I was mesmerized and blown away her cuteness, yeah it's a she. Honestly speaking grey hound breed wasn't my choice of dog but didn't have much with me then so I just had to go with what I had.
I specifically asked the person attending to me to open the cage and bring out the puppy from her cage, ' smiles trying not to use the word it for the dog cause it's a living creature'.
I made sure the puppy who's now a fully grown grey hound dog was in my grip firmly after paying for it and I headed home as fast as I can.
When I got home that day i didn't waste any time in naming her, I named her "lucky". So day by day I'd take lucky for a walk, get her surroundings tidy up, give her some training like the regular commands she needs to know.
Three months passed by as I watched her grow from being a puppy to becoming dog. Though I wasn't feeling the absence of my brothers but having a pet with me covers some part of loneliness. I was so excited about having a pet cause I have always wanted to have one from childhood and even when I was still in highschool.
When my brothers finally returned from their respective places of work across the state, they were surprised to see that I had finally gotten what I always craved for, my childhood wish eventually came to pass. They asked for the name and they were glad about the name I gave my pet.
Have been in look out for another pet but I still can't trade lucky for any pet. Smiles.
