Weeeeeeww! Weeeeeeew!
The sound of the siren when we going on board and responding for a fire call. It was my first time going together with my senior officers EMTs ( Emergency Medical Technician). We are with our four EMTs and us two ERT (Emergency Response Technician). They assigned us with our task for the night and the specialization of task to handle. While in our way to a fire call, it is very exciting and a proud feeling as a volunteer. A few minutes ago, we arrived at the said place and went out searching the incident, grabbing our medicine bag and putting on our Body Substance Isolation and needed equipment. The place is very crowded and the said fire is nearly far from the highway resulting the fire trucks cannot go in perfectly. Fortunately, the fire went out and there is just minor casualties and no person got involved. There are a lot of responders also with us from different organizations and it is just overwhelming that there are people have a humble heart for offering their selves to volunteer and to help people in need.
After then, we went out going back to our ambulance staying back to our base at National Government Center and we are waiting for a call until 11:30 PM in the evening. We can also see here a different group of Rescuers waiting for a call. It is just overwhelming to see them having wholehearted willingness of voluntariness. Afterwards we had our dinner at the eatery near at the NGC. Then, we went back to our area and waiting for a call. Until we completely reach 12 am without call for another help, we are starting to clean up and settling ourselves for our way home. We went back to our headquarters and having our sweet rest to regain energy for tomorrow's activity.
This activity is not just a full rescue but also a sort of experience on how respond on different types of incident and accident. We had meet new persons who are a responder also. We build a community here where volunteers are happy and willing to be with.
And as an ERT, I want to inspire younger generations to engage community services and engagement. This is not only to benefit the community but to help yourself grow and do what you desired to do. It is a pride of yours when you had extended a help for someone who is in help. Just like us RR1 Phil. Members, we are extending our help willingly and happy to serve other people as we had aimed. So this time, it is our opportunity in which rehearsing our knowledge about medical and other tactical trainings and also applying what expertise we had. We are sharpening minds and honing skills to grow as an effective individual.
That is all.Thank you for having your time to read. I am hoping you are inspired by us on our community services. If you want to be with us and we mutually have our desires then much better and that is interesting to discuss with.
Have a snappy evening everybody!
Well, hats off as first responders deserve respect. Looks like someone had time to take some photos :)
Also, it would be great if you could engage more, as engagement is key on Hive.

I can only imagine the stress that it can give especially if there's a distress call that will happen. Good thing that there's none. You had mentioned it is voluntary work, was there such compensation/allowance by any chance? Not that I am a money-driven person but aside from doing volunteerism what's in it for you or me if we join?
Happy to know na wala naman nasaktan and minor casualties only. Continue what you're doing po! It is truly inspiring to see people, strangers even, coming together to help 😊
