Foody feels on the weekend
I know a lot of y'all like to bake and the weekend provides the chance to do so. What I want to see is your best bread, pie, biscuit, cookie or cake recipe and the pictures of the finished product. Tell us the ingredients, the method and write some words about why this is your go-to, favourite or best baking recipe. All images in this post must be ones you took yourself.

This Sausage & Potato Quiche is a favorite go-to for me in the Fall/Winter. I found it in a Martha Stewart Magazine years ago and have been making it since. You can find the actual recipe online here. I bake this in the oven when I'm in the mood for some comfort food or sometimes for holidays. It's gotten to where I've made it so many times that I've altered the recipe a little and tend to add ingredient portions of my own. For example, I use just half a package of sausage and bagged parmesan cheese (even though the recipe calls for grated parmesan). I also use store-bought pie crust instead of making my own.

Ingredients:
Sausage
6 Eggs
Potatoes (steamed & cubed)
Heavy Cream
Parmesan Cheese
Salt/Pepper

Before starting the recipe, there are a few ingredients that you cook/steam/bake ahead of time:

⬆️ Cook the sausage and potatoes ahead of time.

⬆️ Bake the pie crust ahead of time before making the quiche.

How I Make It:

1. I cook the sausage first. Then I microwave the potatoes and cube them. (The recipe calls for steaming them, but I find the microwave quicker).

2. I preheat oven to 375 degrees. First, I bake just the bottom pie crush until it's slightly golden brown. (You're supposed to use pie weights/beans for this, but I don't. Sometimes the pie crust bubbles up a tiny bit, but it's never been a huge problem).

3. While the pie crust alone is baking, I whisk together the six eggs and heavy cream.

4. I add sausage, potatoes and parmesan to the eggs/cream mixture and stir.

5. I dump the mixture onto the half-baked bottom pie crust and put it back in the oven for 45 minutes.

All done!
