Food and TV, that sounds like my perfect weekend!!
$80!!! That's expensive for a pub dinner, I guess a big chunk of that is tips? That's one thing us Brits still can't our head around. I mean I'm ok with giving tips for good service, but the tipping culture in America is another level 😧
We don't go out for dinner that much now, mainly because we don't have any decent restaurants nearby, the nearest city is 20 miles away. If we fancy a nice meal, we'll splash on some good quality food and wine and cook at home. Not quite the restaurant experience but we're not too fussed with that
Fish would not be allowed in our house because of the smell. For the most part though we do a lot of our own cooking. I'm lucky enough to have a decent job and my finances well in check, so I tend to tip a bit more than I probably should. I'm generous that way. I wish it wasn't the case though. I would prefer the standard that you have over there!
