When I read out loud to my husband the third topic proposed by Galen for this Weekend Engagement it provoked in both of us a painful laughter 🤭.
Incredible as it may seem, right now in Cuba there are many living like cavemen and cavewomen...the only thing they lack is to be in a real cave.
Cuevas de Bellamar | Bellamar Caves, Matanzas, Cuba
I say that there are many, and somehow I exclude myself, because for some unknown reason, in our residential sector there are no power cuts. Therefore we have water, some internet signal reaches our devices and the other comforts that come with modern life.
However, my mom, suffers up to 23 continuous hours without electricity, she has no gas for cooking her food so she resorts to charcoal or even firewood (thanks to Homo Erectus for discovering fire 🤣). I give the example of my mom, but equal or worse to her, there are many.
The strange thing and what leads me to say that I think I could have been a good cavegirl, is that they all continue to live, I do not say happily....but "live ". Even though the world has evolved and they know the benefits of development, the situation has made primitiveness prevail. Adapt or perish...there is no other way. If this is the way things are in the 21st century, I imagine it would have been quite easy to live as a cavegirl.
This morning I congratulated my mother on International Women's Day and her response, accompanied by a congratulation for me, was: what a gift.... I woke up with electric light! 🤦♀️🙄
I don't know whether to be amazed "or cry" at the capacity for adaptation that we human beings sometimes have. I know that this ability would give me advantages in my life as a cavegirl. If I had lived in the primitive era I would welcome adaptation, but I would try to change and evolve as an empowered cavegirl 😉. Thinking the matter carefully I belive that my taste for caves and for direct contact with nature could have been acquired in some of my past lives....maybe I was a Homo Erectus....would I have discovered fire????? 🤔😜.

The adaptability of Cuban men and women, you mean. Hahaha... I laugh but this is serious. I didn't congratulate you Amanda hahaha.... My intuition told me that you were in another era and in those days they didn't hand out gladioli or diplomas. 😂
Ayy un gladiolo y un diploma!!!!🤣🤣🤣
Incredible how human beings adapt, I understand the situation I have lived it and that is why I think we could perfectly well be in a cave, we have so much ingenuity for the difficulties we have had to live!
It is truly amazing how circumstances force us to adapt and survive without losing our sanity. Many do not make it, but if they were to think that there have been times in the history of mankind that human beings have lived in even more challenging conditions and survived, evolved and were able to develop until today .... then we all can and with the certainty that we can achieve a better place. Un abrazo y linda semana 🤗💚
Let's remember that we were once in that situation and it is in our ancestral memory... we can do it!🤗
Surely yes!!!😉🤗
😘
That's how we are, my friend, some with a lot and many with little. You're right, I don't know how she resists so much. Where your mom lives, there are no longer blackouts, but lights, I consider her. Today I'm taking advantage of the fact that she has just been installed to interact with you, there's almost no time left, and we're in an Olympic race to take advantage of the time we have.
A big hug.😘
At first, I read the title as a cowgirl (like the female version of a cowboy 😆) but then seeing the cave I got it right :D
Fun aside, I do hope the situation with these power cuts in your country improves one day... 😔
