An Exploration of What bothers me and gives me energy// Weekend-Engagement: WEEK 236

In our everyday life, we face different stimuli, situations, people, and circumstances that can affect our mood and energy levels both negatively and positively. It's important for each of us to recognize what drains our spirits, distracts us, zaps our energy, what displeases us in order to distance ourselves as much as possible and prevent them from negatively impacting us. We also need to acknowledge what brings us the opposite effect, that is, what energizes us, allows us to engage in activities with greater energy or focus, what pleases us because we usually seek to keep it present as it provides a positive influence in our daily lives.

Just like any person, I also have things that bother me and don't allow me to perform at 100% in my day-to-day life, as well as things that help me do so. So today, I would like to share two things that affect me negatively and two that do so positively.

So the question I chose to answer in this Weekend-Engagement: WEEK 236 was:

What annoys you and what energises you? Name two of each and explain

Things that annoy me:

Road noises such as horns, engines, police sirens, etc. are some of the most annoying noises for me.

Loud noises:

Sounds that are not usually pleasant, such as construction noise, the noise from some electrical appliances, the noise from some poorly-maintained cars, among many others, have a negative effect on me. These kinds of noises that can be found anywhere in our daily lives I consider very annoying as they interfere with my concentration, communication with others, my health as they often give me strong headaches, and my mood as they make me irritable. I try to stay away from places with these noises as much as possible, avoiding them especially when working or studying since they don't help me perform at my best in the activities I'm engaged in.

One of my favorite places is libraries because they are always very organized and quiet.

Disorganized spaces:

Things like an office, a room, a house, a classroom, or any space that is disordered or dirty also don't have a positive effect on me. I hate arriving at a place or staying there if it's not properly cleaned or organized; it's unpleasant to the eye and personally distracts me when engaging in any activity of my daily life. Besides the fact that being in such an environment reduces my concentration, it can also trigger allergies due to the dust present or terrify me with the thought of potential insect nests. To stay away from this, I usually avoid visiting places that I know are in this condition. In case I must go, I ensure that my stay there is brief, and if possible, I will try to organize and clean it on my own.

Things that energize me:

The day of this image I was listening to music from a Nintendo DS

Music:

Contrary to the loud noises mentioned earlier, music is a very pleasant stimulus for the ears and has a significantly positive effect on me. Music helps me improve my mood on many occasions or release pent-up emotions; it energizes me when doing my daily activities and serves as a great source of inspiration. I greatly enjoy listening to my favorite artists, and even those I am not familiar with, while working, studying, exercising, or engaging in any other activity. That's why I always try to carry my phone and earphones with me, fully charged.

These are photographs I took in one of my favorite natural spaces: the “María Ochoa Pile” Park in Barquisimeto.I usually visit this park at least once a week.

Outdoor contact:

Going out for a walk in a park, lying down under a tree, going on a hike, and visiting places where you can directly connect with nature also influences me in a very positive way. I love engaging in these activities as they help clear my mind for better focus, uplift my mood, improve my health, inspire me to do new things or enhance the ones I already know how to do. I always make sure to take time, at least once a week, to connect with nature in any way possible to perform better in my day-to-day life.

I hope to continue identifying the things that bother me and the ones that motivate me, in order to achieve a greater balance in my life by distancing the negative and attracting the positive.

That's all for today. I wish you all a great Sunday and a very happy December!

See you soon!
