We enjoyed a great and unforgettable day at Hardwood Firing Range and Resort in San Marcelino on Sunday. Instead of practicing our aim at the firing range, though, we chose this location to hang out with our churchmates, eat fantastic cuisine, and relax in a calm environment.
The resort welcomed us with a lovely fishpond and a large open area ideal for group activities.
The location was perfect for events since it immediately emitted a friendly and soothing atmosphere. Every family brought mouthwatering homemade food to share at our monthly potluck.
We settled in a pavilion we hired, arranging all of our stuff and, naturally, the range of food we had prepared. Our lunch gained a pleasant and reviving touch from the mangoes we brought.
We noticed some resort personnel practicing at the firing range in one area, so we decided to watch them for a while. It was interesting to see how focused and skilled they were as they handled their firearms. We observed their stance, movements, and precision, which made the experience even more exciting. It’s not every day that we get to witness something like this up close!
The resort itself presents an amazing array of facilities, including hotel rooms, restaurant, swimming pool, and fishpond. Although the location is under repair right now, they intend to let the public access it completely not too distant.
The resort is clearly a fantastic place for celebrations, whether for family get-togethers, religious meetings, or special events even with continuous development.
Hardwood Firing Range and Resort's lovely, quiet entry features rich vegetation and a calm fishpond. Emphasizing the resort's conveniences, the directional sign leads guests to the gun range, lodging, and restaurant.
We set up in the pavilion, then spent some time appreciating the surrounds, playing games, and just chatting among ourselves. Reconnecting, laughing, and deepening our relationships outside the typical church environment was a priceless opportunity.
Our praise and worship session turned out to be among the highlights of the day. Our worship was much more meaningful in such a serene and lovely area. Singing together and thanking each other helped us to see the value of friendship and thanksfulness.
Of course, without preserving memories, no gathering is whole. We took plenty of photos throughout the day.
Among the children in our congregation, Miya was particularly charming; her joyful and lovely demeanor lifted everyone's mood. My sister and cousin also seized the chance to pose close to the firing range area, which, despite its intended use, provided a distinctive background for photos.
On the verdant resort grass, Miya and my cousin ashly are having a leisurely and carefree game. Her energy and laughter made the moment even more special, capturing the essence of our joyful Sunday gathering.
The original plan was for every family to bring their own food, serving as their contribution to the event. Alongside the thoughtfully prepared dishes from each family, this would contribute to a diverse spread of food for all to relish and partake in during the occasion.
We left the day content and appreciative. Spending time at Hardwood Firing Range and Resort allowed us to appreciate the beauty of nature, the joy of companionship, and the importance of fellowship.
It was a reminder that sometimes, the best way to recharge is not through extravagant activities but by simply being present with people who matter the most. We’re already looking forward to our next gathering and can’t wait to see the resort once its renovations are complete.
