Macarao National Park, guardian of the city's drinking watersupply
Hello weekend Experiences friends, I hope your days are always full of welness.
Has it ever happened to you that you think about going to one place and end up in another destination?
It happened to us one Sunday this year. Because Alicia, the girl in the picture wearing striped pants, is one of our friends and she had just arrived from Spain where she lives.
She was craving to eat the typical food of the Junquito area: Chicharrón, pork, blood sausage, cachapas and to spend the day in that place that has a mountain climate.
Without thinking twice on Sunday Marisela, Alexis, Evelin, Ori and i went to Junquito very early.
At 7:00 am we were already on the road ready to get out of the routine and spend a different day. In about 45 minutes we arrived at the place, at 8:00 am we parked the car and began to walk around the small town.
With the surprise that all the restaurants were closed because almost all stores have opening hours from 11 am.
So, we had no choice but to start exploring the area on foot and we came to this green and humid forest that we could access, nothing more and nothing less than a small National Park called Macarao National Park.
There are weekends that become good memories, what makes them special? that's relative, sometimes staying home alone and doing nothing out of the ordinary, becomes the greatest and most valuable gift. It will depend on our mood and what our body asks for, also on our good attitude, since we were in the place, exploring it seemed great.
Hugging a tree is a habit I've been practicing for years, if I have the opportunity and the time, I take the opportunity to charge myself with its healing energy and recharge my batteries.
If at some point you decide to visit Macarao National Park, apart from a small and pleasant forest of 15.000 hectares, you can also go horseback riding, eat strawberries with cream, pork, barbecue and churros with chocolate.
One of the things I like most about my country is the variety of climates and ecosystems it has. A few minutes from Caracas, its central capital, we can access a forested area known for its cold climate.
Our Sunday was different, eating delicious food, sharing with friends walking through the streets of El Junquito.
.
Macarao National Park is about 50 years old, the space is nice for picnics, it is recommended to dress warmly. While we were there, it rained for a few minutes, the park has no awnings or roofs to shelter from the rain.
This photo was taken by Oriana, Eve's niece, who is taking her first steps in photography, it was a little cropped, but I appreciate her attitude and good disposition as a photographer.
It is located between the basins of 2 rivers that supply the drinking water needs of a large part of the city of Caracas, that makes it a National Park.I have lived in Caracas all my life and had never visited it.
There are many leafy trees, as we also observed that there were several fallen trees, the vigilant gentlemen informed us that they represented a great risk because of their height.
In the park we saw some horses running loose, Oriana tried to interact with them, although sometimes she got a little scared and gave up
The place is so beautiful that we took the opportunity to do photo shoots, I love taking pictures and reviewing them over time.
I have never liked riding a horse, I think it is unfair that the poor animal has to bear my weight, I know they are used to that, maybe it is nonsense, however I prefer to interact with them by feeding or petting them.
The one who did take advantage of riding a horse was the beautiful Ori, I loved her experience, because it increased her confidence and security.
I liked the creativity of this place, small and cozy, just by looking at the colorful flowers that covered the space I was invited to try the coffee, churros and hot chocolate service. The prices were quite affordable.
So we ended this Sunday stroll by eating the famous churros with hot chocolate, nothing more and nothing less. It took us a few minutes to wait for the chairs to be vacated, but it was worth the wait.
See you in a next ride, thanks for reading my post.
Copied succesfully!

What a nice change of ride, what beautiful photos with the yellow flowers and how many horses!. I almost never hug trees for fear of insects, but you have made me reflect, maybe I should start hugging them. Best regards and very nice ride, it was worth the change 👍.
@lileisabel ,
friend nice to greet you, thank you for visiting my post. You will love it, look, nature is so wise, if you go with a careful energy the inssects that are there will be thrown aside.
I have hugged trees when I have had a headache, or some anguish and when I stop hugging it I am calmer, calmer and without a headache.😘
I have to try friend , with the headaches I sometimes get haha.
Oyeee que bueno Junquito sin chicharrón. Está bien, es que Dios siempre nos cuida ... Sabroso ese paseo. Saludos a tu gente @mosa71
@rosahidalgo jajajajaj yes it was possible, God took care of us from the fat of the chicharrón but not from the fat and sugar of the chocolate and churros.
We were able to eat barbacoa, but for me the dessert was more delicious and unforgettable.
Thank you, I will give them your regards😘
