My parkrun Tourist Obsession. 21 to 30.

Kedron parkrun was my 21st, we where front and centre at the first timer briefing.
Looks like I needed to work pretty hard to keep up with the young guys on this fast and fast out and back course along the creek. The insert is @conscoiuscat cooling off in a big puddle afterwards.

Ocean View parkrun was my first ever first finisher position. I got lucky nobody fast was there that day and I actually walked up most of the hills on this course held within a winery.

The Beaches parkrun was on a road trip holiday and my first ever PALM meet up. PALM stand for parkrun adventures listens meetup which is an Australian podcast for mad keen parkrunners like us. The Beaches parkrun was great, the whole course is on the sand, it was the first and only parkrun I had run barefoot. PALM was a whole weekend of unofficial events and the first photo was a Friday parkrun freedom run on the Newy course.

Cooks River parkrun was my 24th different event we were back down in Sydney for a Easter visiting family and doing a house sit. A double out and back course along the river.

Port Macquaire parkrun was another trip away which was actually more about the Full Distance Iron man event I did the day afterwards.

I was out of focus at Meadowbrook parkrun but looking better on there play ground equipment.

Rocks Riverside is number 27 another pretty fast and flat course along the Brisbane river.

Main Beach parkrun on the Gold Coast about an hours drive from Brisbane is number 29.
It is a great course starting on grass, then heading north behind the sand dunes before turning around and returning on the concrete coastal path. Can get busy but is always worth a visit especially in summer as you can get a swim in the surf afterwards.

There was no photos from the first time I was at Underwood parkrun as it was a very wet day, not many people showed up and we were lucky they did not cancel. "this photo is a more recent one from Underwood" I took it really easy first time there in a time of 45:18 as I had a another big run the next day. The weather fined up for my marathon but taking it easy at parkrun did not really help and I was lucky to finish the 42.2 kilometres in about 4 and half hours.

All photos in this post have to be credited to the parkrun volunteer photographers who give up there run and time each week so I get to see what I actually look like while running.

To celebrate my 10 years of parkrun, I thought I would make a few posts of all the different parkrun events I have visited.

parkrun is a not for profit community event held every weekend. It started in England and has now spread to over 20 countries world wide. If there is not one near you, I would have a look at helping start one so I can come and visit you.
