[WE97] Weekend-Engagement posting topics - Laptop Delivered.

This is my response to "[[WE97] Weekend-Engagement posting topics" You can also join the challenge here.

I didn't know I would even have time to join this challenge with the event of this week that I passed through. Thank you, @galenkp for making this one easier for us all. I can type this while pacing around the hospital lounge.

Topic:

Generosity is a wondrous thing and comes with great benefits for the giver and receiver. Has someone shown generosity towards you? Tell us who it came from, what form the generosity took, how it was delivered and what impact or effect it had upon you or your relationship with the giver.

This happened 2 years 4 years ago when I was still trying to find my way around the Blockchain. I had joined a year before around November 2017 and I've always been known for making lengthy comments and making long posts. I stumbled upon the page of these amazing love birds; @tangerinetravels but their individual accounts are @shenanigator (Jordan) and @sharingeverybite (Maddie). I've never seen anyone as kind hearted as these two back then, save @surpassinggoogle.

I watched their first YouTube video on their channel: [Tangerine Travels and I was really impressed with the life they chose to live. They sold off all their properties and moved to Mexico to start the Vlog. I can remember the last part of my comment to them which is: "You guys are amazing and what you did shows courage. You can make it anywhere because you are loved everywhere."

They started watching out for my comments which I always honestly give after watching their 7-10 minutes YouTube video. Jordan reached out to me through the comment section and I linked up with him on Discord. He asked me how I make my posts since he noticed I always write so lengthy. I told him I always type my articles on my phone and he was shocked. I told him basically all Nigerians type their articles on their phones because having a Mac or any heavy computer would cost a fortune for us. He was surprised by the sound of his "wow" and he left the chat.

I was worried if o said anything wrong but I was just being honest about typing on my phone because I never had a laptop. The one I had before was way back but had packed up many years ago, as far back as 2014 and I got it in 2010. It was not long before he sent me the link to a post he just made and after clicking the link, I saw a post from him asking others to raise funds for me to buy a laptop. I wanted to cry!!! What?! Someone I just met barely 4 months has already taken a keen interest in me due to my posts and honest comments? Wow.

Sir Eric and his adorable wife.

That post kept increasing daily and not only did @ericvancewalton upvoted that vote, but he also sent me tokens directly into my wallet. When the post paid out with the one Sir Eric sent to me, I went ahead and got a very classy HP Laptop, with a mouse, a modem for internet connection and a laptop bag too. That generosity didn't leave me there. I know I can never pay them back and I took it upon myself to share the link to their new posts on YouTube with most of my friends, which I still share on my Facebook page to date.

Both of them didn't stop there, they got me a writing gig from @donkeypong for his @communitycoin account where I make quality posts daily and I get upvotes from @donkeypong directly for the efforts. That generosity didn't leave me because it came from these amazing people heartily without expecting anything in return from me. It shaped me a lot because I was international about helping people too without having anything in return. That was why I also raised a fundraising a year after for a wonderful friend whose wife was to do surgery. I was so glad the value of that fundraising came up huge I sent everything to this friend of mine and he was grateful.

The impact of receiving generosity from others is to spur us on to do the same for others who might need it too. Giving is never giving until we have given to someone who might never be able to repay us. I was really blessed by these amazing people and I've been doing my best to do the same in any capacity for others. I still have that laptop with me...not in optimal condition but it means a lot to me so I can't let it go.

The good thing is that my relationship with them is still strong. I am still in touch with Jordan and Maddie even though they broke up last year and Maddie has her channel now named [Maddie Gold] and I still get visits from @ericvancewalton. I still read his posts and I love seeing his ever trusted and loyal dog; Amstel.

Thank you for your time.

Thank you so much, sir. Always a pleasure to participate.

You're polite. I like that.

🤗🤗🤗 you are kind.

I can be. Not always though, it's situational. 😉

Hahahaha that's the way it should be. We have those who take advantage unnecessarily and knowing when to be kind when it matters is important. Understanding times and seasons 😍😍😍

I remember...those posts on community coin ..where I also get some good support on my comments...helping g me survive indirectly.

Hahaha my friend. Yes. Good times. Missed those moments. Thank you so much. How have you been?

The generosity of strangers are really heartwarming. May they be continually blessed so they can help others more.

Amen. They are amazing humans. God bless them even more.

I remember these people you mentioned back then and I occasionally still visit @ericvancewalton's post. Wonderful and brilliant people. Coincidentally, I wrote about kindness in my weekend post today.

Sir Eric is a cool and amazing soul too. A wise man too.
