Hello hello friends! I stopped by this community to leave a small post and yesterday we went for a walk about 150km from Lisbon to the Evora region, a city very popular with tourists for its majestic tourist sites! what makes this city unique is that it is completely walled and that is why we know that its construction dates back to the famous medieval era that it was common to build fortifications around the city to protect the citizens!๐ฐโฒ๐ธ๐คด
Enjoy it better with family๐โโ๏ธ๐๐
I wanted to prepare a surprise for @alexandrafv who recently motivated her to join our platform so I surprised her and my brother to join us on our trip to the walled city, something told me that I had to invite them to spend a more pleasant and fun day husband is a very happy person and every time the four of us get together we laugh and make many jokes xD so it is impossible to get bored! I already knew Evora but they didn't, so it would be a unique experience for them! and good for me too because I would visit a cathedral that was closed when I came!๐ธ๐คด๐ฐ๐ฏ

You can not stop visiting the city๐โโ๏ธ๐๐
This colorful city is one of the most visited in the center of Portugal, when I personally see a small city that has few things to visit I end up recommending just a "quick visit" but here it is not the case! since there are too many beautiful things to see, from a church with human bones to a set of stone monoliths thousands of years old! And what can I say about the hotel? there are many medieval hotels with excellent service... The food??? five stars! the only problem with the city is its high cost for lunch here 4 people spend an average of 80 euros! Another advantage is that you have free parking!๐ธ๐คด๐ฉ๐

Evora becomes a mandatory visit if you come to Portugal on vacation, you can stay here for about five days and visit everything and then move to the beaches of Algarve believe me you will have an unforgettable vacation, another piece of information that I give you is better to visit it in spring because in summer the sun is quite annoying and there are tourists everywhere making it difficult to take photos, enter the places of interest! winter is complicated by the rains! but in the end you decide!๐คด๐ธโฒ๐ฐ

I'm going to avoid describing the history of the city in this post because I already did it once! my interest was to enter the basilica that I had never visited! and of course enjoy with my family and friends! It's interesting because everywhere you see many medieval walls and observation posts, even with so many fortifications the Portuguese had a lot of problems here because the Arabs conquered it a few times throughout history!๐ฏ๐ฐ๐ง๐ฅ

YUMMY and delicious!!!๐ฅฃ๐ฅ๐ป๐๐
Despite the food being relatively expensive compared to other areas of the country, it was too delicious! We decided to make a stop and have lunch before going to visit the basilica, we were thirsty and it was almost 3:00 pm, another piece of advice I would give you is not to leave lunch so late because it is difficult to find an open place afterwards! I ordered a shrimp salad, despite being simple, it was colorful and had a very good sauce!๐ฅฃ๐ฅ๐ป๐

Evora Cathedral๐ฏ๐๐
And finally we arrived at the cathedral! I was speechless with everything I saw in there, it is a journey of approximately one hour and you have a 360 degree view of the entire city! the cathedral is very old and was built in "1148" it was declared a "UNESCO World Heritage" history tells us that it had been "conquered by the Christian armies" that later the project to transform it into a cathedral began!๐คด๐ธ๐ฉ๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ

The entrance to the basilica is 8 euros per person and you have access to the main chapel, to the tombs of some monks and kings! later you can reach the roof of the cathedral where you can see the most beautiful side of the city! Here you have a clear view of how the wall surrounds the city! the style of the cathedral is "Gotico and Romanico"๐ฎ๐ฐ๐.

And well my friends here ends my little walk! It was a beautiful experience that we lived in this medieval city, I think I put together the photos and enough information to give you another reason to want to visit my country! The city is known for its great variety of dairy products and wines!๐๐
