Hello dear weekenders! Another weekend and another engagement post, but one that sparked a lot of thought and interest with me! I went fullheartedly for options three: Mystery!
What I have always wondered is what most of us wonder sometimes, and some of us wonder often: What happens when we die? What lies in that great unknown?

The Great Question That Has No Answer
I think what makes it so fascinating as a question is that death is such a common part of all our lives. Everything around us dies until we ourselves eventually die as well. Yet we have no idea what that will be like or what lies beyond. Isn't that just fascinating?
What makes it even more fascinating that even though we have made huge advances in science and can theorize about black holes, life in other places and dimensions, we understand concepts like time etc. But we still haven't got any closer to what happens when our hearts stop beating. Do we just cease to exist? Do we go somewhere? Do we reïncarnate (one of my personal favorites, think of how cool that would be)
Questions That Lead To More Questions
What I think I love about this mystery is that the more you delve into it, the more questions it raises. All good mysteries do this I find. Because if there is anything after we die, what is it then? And won't it be pretty full there now? If we reincarnate how would that work then? How is decided who becomes what? Is something God-driven or random?
We do of course know quite a lot about the physical process of dying, what happens when our bodies wind down and eventually the heart stops beating source . But very few people will find that very fascinating, the interesting question is what, if anything, lies beyond?
Some of the Theories
The Religious Experience interestingly enough most people on earth believe in this version. The idea that there is some God- controlled afterlife, often determined in niceness by how good you lived your life.
I myself am not religious, but can understand how people take comfort in this idea. Though with me it often invoces questions of: where do all those people go? Is eternity there really eternity (which is pretty long)? What about people from different religions?
The Scientific Experience scientist explain that the most common theory is that just as your body ceases to exist, that is it. There are no indications that our consciousness is anything other than something produced by our brains. As the brain is deprived of oxigen, we and who we are cease to exist.
The Spiritual Experience I think most people (like myself) that are not religious and find the scientific experience a bit depressing fall into this category. The idea that there is 'something' out there after death, whatever it may be. Energy perhaps or reincarnation.
I find just thinking about this question and mulling it over in my mind brings me no closer to solving this mystery (which would be a bit much to aim for since we humans have been trying that for quite a while) but yet it could bring personal answers about what you think life after death would look like.

"Star Dust" my answer, becoming one with the universe. They say ashes to ashes, dust to dust so in this theory I go for star dust, float till we stick who know what, when, where or why it is not me in my current format so take it anywhere you want ☺️
I like that idea as well, kind of becoming one with the cosmos we came out of again!
We are but a moment in time, why would we think we are anything more than dust in the cosmos.
No, not too morbid. I think about this all the time, it's an interesting subject. Probably because there's so much uncertainty about it.
This thought always grazes my mind. At times I just wish we could just bring someone back from the dead and ask. Unfortunately it's not happening anytime soon.
I am catholic, although not very religious; the truth, I have become a bit skeptical over the years. But I find it comforting, when we lose a loved one, the idea of something after we leave the earthly plane, what is that something, I think we will not have the answer, but maybe we become some energy, in another plane. And I do like @joanstewart's idea of Star Dust, as well.
Way I want to go, 'waste not want not', Star Dust makes the most sense to me.
Yeah I find it very comforting as well to believe that we go to a happy place after this. The whole there is nothing idea is a bit too depressing to me...
