"If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first." - Mark Twain
The above quote talks about productivity. It explains how we need to tackle the hardest tasks first thing in the morning while jumping onto the next smaller tasks on our list. The word frog there means the thing you don't want to do, but it is the thing you need to do. For all the to-do lists we have penned down, there is that one big task that feels so unmotivating for one to do, knowing if we eventually do it, we feel better tackling them once and for all. One thing that causes this is procrastination.
In our everyday life, we don't always want to do everything especially when we feel so discouraged and when our spirit is low and feeling the weakness in us, we might actually try other little things but the hard one seems like a big mountain in our presence and until we tackle it first, we won't feel any better or at peace.
Eating the frog means doing that one hard thing first thing when you wake up in the morning, and doing this will make the others look simpler and pleasurable to do.
This is a situation where we have more than one important tasks to achieve which makes us happy finally doing them and making the day a productive one. In this case, there will always be the hardest among the two tasks to jump on and this can only happen when we set out goals and focus on doing them one at a time. Tackling the biggest task will give you a clearer mind and a peaceful state with willpower enabled.
I have always found myself in this situation many times and this is mostly caused by weakness and laziness which makes me end up shifting it till the next day, hoping there would be some sort of motivation and willpower to help me do them. Like, this morning, I had on my list to do a video to be posted tomorrow before I move on to working online. My neighbourhood is sort of noisy always as the tenants would always find one thing or two to cause distraction, I thought of postponing till in the evening but I remembered it wouldn't favour me if I try that. Moreso, I would be going for a vigil tonight and that would disrupt my plan. I immediately sprung into action as I woke up earlier and I felt so better ticking that off my list while jumping onto the next ones which seems like fun to me.
Taking action is the key. Instead of thinking about that frog, why not take action immediately and discipline yourself till you have accomplished the task? This is something I have tried focusing on and it has helped me to achieve the frog (s) staring at me.

Ah, here comes another procrastination talk. Once it sets in that task is bygone and may not be accomplished again.
Taking action at the nick of time is the best way to eat that damn frog and if they are two, well you know what to do 😂😂

Yea, doing this as quickly as possible will save one the stress later on. Thank you for stopping by.
Hmmm solid speech right here!
TAKING ACTION IS KEY 💯
My people will say PROCRASTINATE IS A KILLER OF DESTINY.
Thank you for sharing with us
Of course, procrastination kills time. We must not allow it. Thanks for showing up.
Indeed..because if we take a pause, there will be things in between that would cause distractions and compromise the plans.. I often do that especially when distracted by things I'm seeing online. So I ended up not accomplishing the tasks... Self-discipline is also the key.. Easier said than done though 🤣..

Self-discipline is the key. Though it isn't always easy but we keep trying.
Good!
Thanks
I really like the way you understand the phrase. I really hadn't thought about it. It is very interesting. I have the habit of starting the day from less to more, but I see that it would be good to try to do it differently. Thank you! 💟
Perhaps trying things differently could be fun too. Thank you for your comment 🙏
I think you've properly dissected this statement, Princess. That hard task that seems unsavoury, that you feel so unenthusiastic to do should be settled. Swallow the bitter pill first and get it over with. Glad you were able to run through that difficult task. Well-done.🌺
Yes, swallow the bitter pill first before the sweet ones that follows. Thank you for stopping by, Jhymi
I’ve read this book and it has been so helpful in the guidance to more productivity and time management.
It was a lovely read and experimenting phase.
