Why do you need to take responsibility for your own life ?

And work towards better outcomes...

Because nobody else would take that responsibility 100%, you alone will have the full memoir of your life, and as time passes, you will realize, you came here alone and you will leave this place alone - your own life is mostly affected by your work, your decision, though others can only influence to make it better (or worse).

This dog is living in our apartment for quite some time, it's neither a pet dog nor a stray dog. Initially it used to live outside of the campus, when it was a kid, then many children started feeding it, slowly it became a regular affair, with most people (including many sympathetic women and elderly people) feeding left over foods and it took the opportunity to come and stay inside. Some kids even use to play with it ( ya, dog is definitely the most adorable), but what happened with the boy was unexpected. One of their brave friends play with the dog and the boy was standing beside him, and before he realized, the dog stood upon him.

After he came home, he realized there is a little scratch on his finger, and he could not confirm, if it could have happened because of the dog's nail or somewhere else. He looked forward to me to advise what to do and this is where it gets challenging - who takes the responsibility of ignoring ? I have always advised the kids to not play with dogs, that are not vaccinated, like this one. Unfortunately everyone feeds the dog, but no one takes the responsibility of making sure ,it is vaccinated. I even asked in the society group chat why we are allowing it to stay inside, but then at the end no one even bothers to respond.

Rabies is one of the most deadliest disease, which can only be prevented by taking the vaccine. I have even seen one such case and it was heart breaking. We tried to consult some of our Doctor friends / family members and they were of different opinion. Some said, the scratch is very small, so we can watch the dog for few days and if its doing fine, then we can ignore the vaccine. Another said, it is better to take the vaccine for safety side. But based on our google search, what scared us is that there are cases reported even after taking the vaccine, either it was not taken completely, or not taken in time. Hence I decided to visit the physician who treats the kid from birth, like a family friend. He advised to take the vaccine, five doses, and for rest of his life, he needs to take only two doses (zero and three), in case of a dog bite / scratch.

The boy was very confused about what should be done, but now he understands, why he needs to be responsible. The dog is still living here and doing fine, so most likely there is no risk - but again, no one gives guarantee of your life.

And do you know, we have stray dogs every where and I have taught him to not fear and run away from them if they bark or run at you. Instead, stop and confront them and shout at them - they will slow down, unless they are mad. As he mostly goes by cycle to attend his tuition classes, it's very important to not fear and handle situations like this.

Rabies is a dangerous disease. We shouldn't take it easy. You did a fine job to vaccinate him.
I think making mistakes is a natural thing but repeating same mistakes should be completely discouraged. One should take complete responsibility of his life.

Get well soon. It is always important to take precautions in dog attacks. Dogs are very dangerous when they are crowded. When one dog attacks, the others start attacking too.

Rabies is really dangerous and when it gets to the worst stage, there is usually no more solution to it.
I’m glad he tried his best taking care of himself

It's good you didn't take any chances, it's better to be on a safe side.

Yes, friend, that is true, we have to learn to handle situations from a young age so that when we enter full adulthood we are able to face the problems that life presents us. Now a question: the dog lives inside the complex near their houses and no one has done anything to vaccinate it to avoid any accident.

Sir, you are right, rabies is a very dangerous disease. It should be treated and vaccinated on time. Simple people like us see it as normal, but it is a very dangerous disease. You have made a very informative post.

Wow
As for me, I’m always scared of playing with dogs especially the ones I’m not sure of whether they are vaccinated or not
I hope the boy gets well and the hand heals
Rabies can be very deadly

Yes sir it is a very dangerous disease.its symptoms can appear after a long time and it is better to vaccinate a person before being affected by rabies.

That's the best choice to do the vaccine, it's better to act now and do something rather than cry tomorrow because something hasn't been done

You acted well protecting that child from risks

After 18 years, unless responsibility is given to the child, he will never be able to become a successful person. Parents should also give the child a chance and give him some opportunities so that he can work hard and prove himself that he is working hard in this world and will definitely become a successful person.

Good friend, the best thing is to prevent anything, so getting vaccinated is fine, it would be the most advisable thing, in the same way, you have to be careful with those dogs and, as you say, you have to have responsibility among the neighbors so that an accident like this does not happen again.

Exactly! Rabies is also a main problem here. Even a dog scratch can be dangerous. Hope the kid gets vaccinated to combat rabies in his system.

It's good to train kids learn about taking responsibility, and become more responsible while they're still young. As they mature, they're more responsible people.

Your post about the Rabies is very useful. By reading this post, many people will get enough awareness about this disease. Rabies is a very dangerous disease.

most kids would not even bother

Which is wrong, because there is a very heave price of it - life.
