Hail to the Hive!
It's interesting times to say the least right now living on Badger the Narrowboat. We have been waiting 6 weeks for the new engine to arrive and now we must prepare to have it installed. So first things first....
It has to be removed.
So with the engine bay no bereft of any propulsion machinery we are moored up opposite the boat yard and are in easy walking distance for trash disposal and if we need water we can drag the boat 100 meters to the water point and fill up. We have Solar power so thats at least power and water. Gas we have also for cooking. All set, just can't go anywhere.
It's also a more populated area than we are used to mooring up in but we are familiar with most of the boaters here now as we have been in the area about 2 months now so at least we don't feel like strangers.
So what to do this weekend?
BBQ OF COURSE!
And look who's here!
@diveratt has arrived with a red cross parcel full of BEER
He's also brought up the fire pit we ordered for canal side warmth this winter so we are giving that a go to see how it does.
I could BBQ year round i these settings, it's just fun and as the boat is small it makes sense to utilise the great outdoors to maximum effect. Wouldn't you agree?
BBQ all set up and we have decided that to offset the vegetarian curry the other day we will only eat meat today as it's all about balance eh?!
AND OF COURSE MORE BEER
Even with no engine life is not a problem on the canal. Good people, nice environment, good beer and a fire pit!

That’s awesome, beer, fire pits and friends! There isn’t a lot that’s better than that I think!
Must know...
After a sweaty, greasy day of working on mechanicals... Or whatever. Do You feel the need to Cannonball into the water for a quick cooldown and degrease...?
I have a huge pond, and feel this urge quite often... LoL
Wow so a lot of fun and joy🍺
