Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog.
It's a beautiful weekend and I will be writing on one of the weekend experience weekly prompt on
A goal without a plan is simply a dream; how have you set goals for yourself and worked towards attaining them?
Truly, I do set goals without making plans for them and I don't achieve many of them but this changed after I joined newbie initiative organized by the hive learners community last year and we were taught how to set goals and how to achieve them. I set goals in my mind most time I just tell myself this year I want to apply for this and that and I just let things happen without monitoring my progress.
At the beginning of the year I was keen on learning a digital skill which is Data Analysis and I had to write it out on my journal. I remembered we were told to draw up a daily to-do list towards achieving our goals. I knew I will have to adjust my daily routine so that I can accommodate my new plan which I did.
I had my classes in the evening, three times a week; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday were my lecture days because I enrolled in a training institute not far from my working place. Most times I got home very late but I was determined to learn.
I had to borrowed a laptop when I started and I had to save up to pay my fees and bought my own laptop in May. I started the training in March and I finished in July. I enrolled for another virtual training on data analysis again in the same July and finished in August.
I stated it clearly at the beginning of the year that before October I must achieve this goal and thanks to God it's a success.
In conclusion, writing out one's goal and keeping it in a place where you can see it everyday will go a long way in achieving it. Be ready to sacrifice whatever you have to in order to achieve it and without strong discipline and determination, goal setting is a waste.
Dream it! Write it! Pursue it! Achieve it!.
Thanks for reading.
Happy Sunday.
