Today, I want to go into a topic that can be quite subjective. I will be going through my thoughts on whether I feel society is spiraling out of control.
Honestly, I don't feel that society is spiraling out of control. I feel throughout time there has been ups and downs but in the end society is moving forward. For example, the world had a great depression in 1929. I wasn't born yet but society recovered. The same goes for the 2008 financial crisis. There's always something happening that impacts society. These things can be positive or negative. I can see why someone would feel that society is spiraling down from the negative things.
For example, two of the negative things I feel that are happening now are short videos and AI. There's a fair amount of people getting consumed by watching these short videos. If that's not the case, then they are trying to be the content creator to try to get rich by being famous to the point where they skip college. I don't see this as a spiraling down of society though. I think it's just opened a new dream for people. It's kind of like American Idol but everyone can audition for free by creating content on the platform. If you become popular, then you're getting the views and getting paid for it. It's just like how in American Idol the most popular singers will get the votes from the people.
As for the AI part, we can see it has been growing tremendously. Just not too long ago, there was ChatGPT that can help answer any question and even do assignments. We had Ai generated images like Midjourney. Now, we are having AI platforms that are able to produce videos by producing multiple generated images. Soon enough these AI's will have a physical body and mass produced; this is already in the process of happening. This doesn't mean society is going out of control though. It's just the normal advancement in technology and as humans we adapt like we have been throughout history. I think the future of AI is still uncertain and who knows it could cause the downward spiral of society. The AI could get so good and we can see robots taking over the world like in the movies. I was also thinking of something that happened to society like the movie, WALL-E. If that happened then, I would genuinely feel that society spiraled out of control.
Hopefully, what I wrote made sense. To be clear, at this point of time I don't feel society is spiraling out of control but this is subject to change depending on what the future holds. Feel free to add on your opinion in the comments below. I hope you all have a great weekend!
