These days I'm investigating some places to visit soon, I'm interested in some extreme activities, especially one that I did some time ago and I would like to repeat, but in another location: canopy, do you know it? It is a circuit of cables installed in several trees and the idea is that you move between them, a bit like Tarzan but instead of a liana you hang from the cable.
The photos I share are from that time, I went with friends on a Saturday to live the experience in this zip line. It was inside the Waraira Repano or Ávila National Park, in Caracas (Venezuela), specifically in Los Venados Park Ranger Station, which is in the area of Cotiza.
Before we started flying through the trees, the people in charge of this activity gave us a brief instruction, helmets and harnesses. The action began with a short walk along a trail through the forest to the area where the canopy circuit began.
When we looked up we saw the first platform, it was super high, through a ladder made with boards and rope that was in the tree trunk we climbed one by one to it.
There was the first part of the circuit, the cable through which we were going to move hung between the tree where we were and the one in front of us. Wow, when it was my turn to jump I got a little nervous, but I was excited hehe.
They give you a special glove to control the speed, you put your hand on the cable and you go like braking, you move at the pace you consider until you arrive, ready, I did it!
Then we had to cross a suspension bridge, it was almost as exciting as the zip line, it's not so easy to cross it, you have to step in the middle of the boards so it doesn't wobble.
In total the tour is just over 250 meters, has five platforms in the trees and it takes about an hour to do it. Between the height of the trees you can sometimes see the city in the distance, spectacular!
When you reach the last stretch of the canopy circuit it is time to descend from the heights and the way is by rappel, it is about 30 meters, very fun!
Something I forgot to ask is what species of trees these are, as I stepped on the ground again I observed them from below and they seemed even more beautiful and powerful.
What did you think? I hope to repeat this experience soon in a longer canopy circuit that is located in another place, I will share it here 😊.

Zip lines are fun! I tried this in Costa Rica, it was amazing, we even got to see a lot of wildlife that we wouldn´t be able to see from the ground, like toucans and sloths :) Btw I can see that you were nervous and your hands were shaking as the photos are blurred :D
I've read that Costa Rica has some amazing zip line circuits! I can imagine how you enjoyed that! Hahahaha yes I was a bit nervous but also the blurriness of some of the photos is because I was wobbling on the course 🤣.
Oh yeah, Costa Rica has some amazing zip lines :) It was so much fun :)
That´s my girlfriend enjoying her ride :)
Looks amazing, I want to go! :D
Someone like me, I don’t think I can ever go near such things not to even think about trying it out. Simply because I am very afraid of heights and I will have to look down and see how far above I am. That’s what scares me the most, but I do hope one day I can overcome this and try out climbing.
If you set your mind to it you can overcome that fear, little by little, with simple activities and then with more complex ones, you will feel a great satisfaction! Thank you for stopping by 🙂.
This looks too cool. It's something I've always wanted to try, but haven't had the opportunity to do so. Thank you so much for sharing your experience. The place looks great too, immersed in the jungle.
Cheers ✌️
Hi! I hope you can experience it soon, it really is a lot of fun and if the circuit is in a natural place like this, even better, thanks for stopping by!

Lindas fotos y linda experiencia. Yo hice Canopy en Mendoza, Argentina con mi colegio, mucho miedo al principio y adrenalina pura! Luego quieres ir de vuelta a tirarte jeje. Saludos!
Jajaja exactamente, la sensación que te queda después de los nervios iniciales es lanzarte de nuevo. ¡Gracias por pasar, saludos!
