Me, The Park and Mr. Coluber

in Weekend Experiences โ€ข 4 years ago (edited)

Hello Community and Weekend Lovers (ะฐre there any people who are not fans of the weekend at all ๐Ÿ˜Ž)!
That's my first post here and today I want to tell you about a park I visited last weekend, because, what more typical weekend activity is there than walking in the park.

Well, not for me.

I can be attracted to a park only if there is some art inside it - sculptures, monuments or buildings. And yes, here in this park there is a permanent exhibition with many special works in it, but I am afraid that today I will not have enough time and place to show them to you. That is why I am not talking about them in this post. I will only talk about the park.

And speaking of weekend and weekend activities, maybe I should clarify that I am a person who finds it difficult to afford to rest. Guess why. This is what happens when you are raised by parents who constantly require you to achieve something. Then in life you can't even afford to walk in the park ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ™„.

So that day I made an effort to walk in the park with the stipulation that I would take pictures. As they say, I'll do some work.

For now, I will skip the real beginning of my walk in the park and will put it at the end. And then you will understand why.

Except for the real beginning of my walk, it went well and see how beautifully this place welcomes its visitors. With a sign pointing to an alley with the pompous name Alley of New Life.

Here I want to laugh, because this park, located in the town of Dimitrovgrad, Bulgaria, is actually a very neglected place. And the pompous name of the alley is in absolute contradiction with the real state of the park.

img_20210508_185952.jpg

You can see this by the condition of the skateboard section and the children area.

On the other hand, this park is the largest park in the city, which is famous as one of the 'greenest' cities in the country.

And if one ignores one's critical gaze, and I can hardly do that, one can really enjoy its vast wooded areas, the variety of birds chirping in its ears, and the serenity of its clear greenery.

The park even reaches through these paths the bank of the river, whose name it bears - Maritsa.

Admittedly, I hesitated before stepping on this path. I don't know what countries you live in, but here in Bulgaria every year at that time there is a boom of ticks that grow in such places. Not to mention the snakes. Even in, so to speak, the heart of a city.

But after overcoming my fear, I managed to reach the river bank.

img_20210508_190835.jpg

And here I saw something that surprised me - on the other far shore there was a group of young people in swimsuits.

Well, Maritsa is the fourth longest river in Bulgaria.

And you can see for yourself the condition of its pool.

img_20210508_191335.jpg

It turns out that this place is really a famous beach and a place for fishing for the locals.

img_20210508_191204.jpg

I am a good swimmer myself, but as much as I love the water, I would not enter this river.

img_20210508_191258.jpg

img_20210508_191419.jpg

Not to mention that a few days ago the police found a badly decomposed corpse of a man along it. Not here, but around another city, and...

img_20210508_191504.jpg

... imagine swimming calmly in this muddy water and hop - something like that crashing into you ... I'll probably drown just out of fear.

Okay, enough of the horror movies.

img_20210508_190342.jpg

After the walk to the river, I really reached the Alley of New Life. It was quite difficult, given the terribly scorching sun. And I really don't know how many kilometers I managed to walk that day, just because of this park.

img_20210508_190206.jpg

img_20210508_190140.jpg

This is a simple place for afforestation with trees under a project in which the municipality provides a tree for each child born after 01.01.2010.

img_20210508_190243.jpg

With a handmade bench - the only place where one can hide from the cruel sun.

img_20210508_190310.jpg

And the 'alley', although created on such a wonderful project, did not look in very good condition.

img_20210508_212146.jpg

But now, let's finally get out of this park and go back to the beginning.

img_20210508_212223.jpg

You see these beautiful trees.

img_20210508_212259.jpg

Maybe you should think again.

Because first, they are called Judas-trees.

And second ... I was under a tree for a while, photographing its blossoms with the camera. I was so absorbed in what I was doing that if it wasn't for my boyfriend noticing that there was a snake on the branch above me, I probably would never have known.

img_4239.jpg

Mr. Snake, or Mr. Coluber, as I named him, is not an aggressive breed, so he just watched me straight in the eye.
I jokingly named it Mister, because if it was a woman, it would attack me, heh.
This is a joke, of course.
But it was definitely not fun, the moment I tried to focus my camera, aiming at his head, and he was watching me straight in the eye.

You had to see how irrational I was, overwhelmed by fear of a snake that I knew was not poisonous ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ And not aggressive.

img_4239_1.jpg

But ...how do you react in such situations?

Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!

Beautiful

Thank you! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Reading this post made me feel like I was walking there with you.
This park looks very colorful and lovely, also this Judas tree is so pretty. ๐Ÿ˜Š
In one of your photos there are shoes hanging from the branches, why? Is it because of skateboard section?
Great post, beautiful photos, I just enjoyed so much reading this.
Have a good day.๐Ÿ˜

Thank you very much @frki! Your comment just made my day!
I'm really glad you liked the post!
To tell you the truth, as a person who often just documents with the camera or phone the things I'm seeing around me and don't ask questions, I really don't know why they left those shoes there. Yes, this is in the skateboard section. And I guess it's just following the fashion coming from Western countries - this shoe tossing.

It is okay, I usually don't ask questions either XD. I let my boyfriend deal with that. ๐Ÿ˜‚
But shoes on branches look very cool.

the park looks so peaceful
