Weekend is here and I ham writing this post in response to the weekend engagement post by @galenkp
I would like to write about the below-mentioned topic:
Laugh and cry
What has made you laugh or cry unexpectedly (or both). Explain your answers, the situation, why, when, and where.
Just 2 weeks back I was watching the movie "We are Family". It's an old movie, released in 2010. It showed in my netflix list and I just randomly played it.
The movie was about a family in which the husband and wife were separated but still co-parenting 3 kids. The husband had an inclination towards some other woman and was staying with her until she realized his wife and cancer would die very soon. They started living together again so that the husband could help her ex-wife manage the children. Later they invited the husband's new love to stay with them so that the children could be managed. It's a nice fictional movie.
What made me cry, unexpectedly, was the fact that the mother who was about to die had just one fear in mind - about her children. She didn't care about herself at all, all she was worried about was how the children would be managed after she passed away. And that made me think, how would Raag be managed I was not there with him someday. I thought about this and cried like crazy.
I am normally not someone who cries watching movies but this time was different. Being a mother brings in us some different emotions that no one else can realize. We live more for our children and less for ourselves and everything we do concerns our children more.
But I don't want to feel sad thinking about such things, what has to happen will happen. I want to enjoy all the moments I have with him to the best and give him all that he deserves.
Happy Weekend!
A mother's love knows no bound..
Absolutely true!
Hi Sugandha
That kind of movie is difficult for us moms to watch. I think that losing a parent to an illness at a young age especially is very traumatic.
Don't worry, I also cry when I watch movies or read things that bring up questions like that. Thanks for taking part and have a good weekend.
Thank you for your kind words @andrastia It is difficult losing anyone and mostly, life doesn't stop for anyone, it goes on. But as mothers we are always very protective towards our kids. And this comes natural I guess.
I know how you feel, some movies are a life lesson for us to learn from. It just shows the love the mother has for those kids. And you feel so because I believe you also care so much about orphanages, and you love kids. Do well to care for them when you have the opportunity.
Yes for sure, I will. I feel I am blessed to have the love of my parents till date.
Movies like that makes me cry too, so emotional but at least it is always fictional but damn it.....it looks so real when watching the scene.
Yes, that's what we call a good direction 😄
Even though you cried, did you enjoy the film?
I stopped many many years ago watching films that I don't enjoy.
I did, actually. I continued watching the movie even if it made me feel sad because at the end of it, I knew the kids would land up fine. And I wanted to know that.
oh yes, sometimes you want to know what happens, I can relate to that.
