Hello friends of Hive, I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was quite entertaining, I walked a bit through the streets of Buenos Aires and I found a palace.
This beautiful construction is called Palacio Sarmiento, it is located in the neighborhood of Recoleta in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. When passing by here it is impossible not to turn around to see it since the construction is huge and quite striking, to walk around it was closed at that time, while I was taking the photographs a lady approached me to talk to me about this place.
She told me that originally this was a school for girls, that it had about 700 students and that it was donated by a lady, who was the owner of the land and in her will she wanted to give the land, aside from donating a generous amount of money to build said school, which is why it used to be called Petronila Rodríguez School, in honor of her. Besides, he also donated money for the construction of other schools, institutions and churches.
Later, in the 20th century, it functioned as the headquarters of the National Ministry of Education and its name was changed to what it currently bears, Palacio Sarmiento.
Something that caught my attention is its sculptures in the construction, it has two Atlanteans that give it an elegant touch. He also told me that it is very nice inside, it has several rooms where the public can go and take pictures. I look forward to meeting you inside.
Then I continued my walk and crossed the Plaza Rodriguez Peña, which in my previous posts I have mentioned for its soccer, tennis and teqball courts, as it had rained a few hours before, there were still some puddles of water and the birds took the opportunity to take a bath 😂 I thought it was cute to see this and of course I tried to get as close as possible to take pictures of it.
