Mid-May and the warm breeze announces the beginning of the hot season. We are sheltered under our daddy tree, with a strong trunk, leafy branches and countless leaves. There among that majesty is me, sheltered and developing. One day I will become a rounded, exuberant, fragrant and delicious mango.
Days go by and I have gone from being a simple flower to a drupe in full development. Ahh I am thinking when I will be a mature woman, how delicious I will be! ... while here I am still dreaming.
My sisters and I, we have grown more, now our color is turning between a yellow-reddish. The atmosphere is impregnated with an exquisite smell. Our father can't bear our weight and now he has bowed, as if bowing ... but I don't know to whom.
Some annoying boys have started to throw stones at us, who think they are the very bold ones! ... they are taking my sisters away, but it is insolent, it is not the way to treat a lady. Thank goodness our caretakers have made them flee. They treat us nicely, as we deserve. I peek through the leaves and see trucks in the distance being loaded with many of my sisters.
I think I will be going on a trip soon, I hope it is to a place where I can stretch out, my sisters are too fat and I am too cramped. While we wait we talk about our future. I already know that I am a delicious fruit with many beneficial properties. I am rich in antioxidants, with lots of fiber and I provide vitamin A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, C, E, K and folic acid, as well as calcium, flavonoids, beta-carotene, niacin, potassium, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, manganese, sodium and zinc.
Holy cow, I'm about to convince myself that I am a super fruit! ... and by the way, have you seen my curves? I am round, curvy, fleshy, with a very striking color and to top it off my smell is irresistible. I know that while you read me your mouth is watering. Where I was going, yes, the trucks. The day has arrived, our caretakers have taken us down from the tree. They pull us with a kind of hook and zaz to the ground, that scares me ... - no, no, no, no, wait, careful ... ahhhhhh I'm falling - Well life is like that, one time you're up and the next moment someone picks you up from the ground.
I was carried in a basket along with some of my other sisters. Life looks different from this perspective. They put me on a big truck and we started our journey. At last my good beloved will take me in his arms and well ... I think he will give me a love bite.
The trip was endless and exhausting, how hot and cramped we are! When we arrived we were put on a conveyor belt. I don't understand what's going on, so I look out and see in the distance a tunnel and a curtain ... I look again, yes it's a curtain of ... water!!!! .... Ahhhh delicious at last a well deserved bath, which has removed the dirt from my beautiful body. At the end, dry and shiny, I am taken in a cart to my destination.
They put me in a very nice, air-conditioned place. I look around and there are many kinds of fruits and vegetables, all shiny and colorful. What a nice place this is. I also see many people with carts, they pass by and take us in their hands, caress us and smell us. I am still waiting...
At last they have taken me in their strong hands. They have smelled me like no one has ever smelled me before. They placed me delicately in their cart. What happiness, I am going to be part of a family... well, is that how it will be? I am not sure.
When I get home a young man sees me there in the bag and grabs me euphorically. He gives a shout and says - what he wanted - he bathes me again, what a mania with baths around here. He runs out and sits on the stairs in front of his house. Slowly he starts to undress me with his teeth ... but what is this! Just like that, and without permission.
Well, it doesn't really feel that bad... he sniffs me as he closes his eyes and right there zaz he gives me the first bite of love... my juicy body starts to spill out between the corners of his mouth, which soon turns into a gushing river of my sweetness.
What a mess of a young man, his hands are impregnated with my juiciness and the smell I emanate is more intense than ever. He is eating me voraciously and as I look into his eyes, he transforms into a child of about 5 years old, he runs his hand over his face and suddenly I am not only in his mouth, but everywhere and so little by little my life is extinguished with the euphoria produced in another being.
If you were expecting a happy ending, let me tell you that I don't know what you are thinking. I am a fruit and a fruit that deserves to be eaten with my hands and pure bite. That's the best way to eat me, if you haven't done it try it and then tell me about it.
