After we went to church, April and I decided to go to the nearest bookshop in the area. A few weeks ago, I told April that there's one selling books that on a per kilo basis I recall it is around 230PHP / kilo.
We are fond of book sales when we are living in the metro area but since we are quite far such shops are not that available anymore. We rely most of the time on the online shopping applications and some coming from our good friend @romeskie.
It is just a typical book shop, there's very few selection available and as for me nothing piques my interest. I think that the shop caters kids at most since mostly what they offer are children's books and some general knowledge stuff.
Immediately, when we arrived on the place we scoured the box that have the signages of per kilo. They are still on sale and the price is 190PHP or $4.50 per kilo. April was excited to check what they can bring home and so is Dyn-Dyn as she tried to open some of the books.
already served it's purpose. There's a lot to pick, they chose the nursery rhymes some story books, insects and alphabets. The goal is before they sleep is they will be reading new stories as the books that we bought and some given by @romeskie
As starters, we planned to get at the very least 1 kilo of books then we will just go back a week after. To our surprise, when we initially weigh the books that they picked it was more than three kilos already. We trimmed and picked which one we should be bringing home as the allotted budget is not enough to cover thus we decided to remove the ones that are quite heavy. Most of the time it is the hard bound cover that made the book heavy as the books were just twenty to thirty pages max.

We left the shop happy with our purchase and we were told by the shop keeper that by next week there will be new books that will arrive in the shop. While we are on the way home, April and I talked about buying books / toys instead of giving her a phone / tablet in the next few years. Aside from being economical, we can avoid her of having more screentime and hopefully build a strong reading habit at a young age.

Such a cute bookshop.
It is! One's quite small but very easy to search for books.
Mura na din sa 1 kilo. Galing naman at books ang gusto ni April. Good job baby.
Ang exciting! I have links to free ebooks of Hans Christian Andersen, Lewis Caroll and Charles Dickens, (and so much more) classics for bedtime reading pala. I can send you the link. We just finished the original story of Nutcracker and the Mouse King. Nipi-print ko lang yung mga ebooks kasi mas gusto ng kiddo ang physical book, you can do the same if you want.
Btw, may new books na ulit na gustong ipadala si Aya for Dyndyn. 🥰
Ngayon lang ako nakakita ng per kilo na bookshop. Malamang mag-e-enjoy ang chikiting mo sa mga books na nabili nyo.
