Ah Bliss!!! We open our eyes at 6.30am, the sun is shining and it's blue sky's all around. What a perfect winters day! After a long drive the previous day, from our recent trip to the southern end of Queensland, it was literally so blissful waking up to sunshine and 23 degrees! It was the prefect start to the weekend. When your travelling on the road full time one day melts into the other naturally, but when your in tropical paradise not even time can take away the beauty.
Yeppoon has literally boomed! I was here around 16 years ago and simply remember it being a sleepy little beach town. When friends of ours said they would be there on the same dates we were passing by, I couldn't wait to take my family to see it. We tried booking into a caravan park in town, however, as with most things these days the prices were a little, ok really a LOT, out of our budget! Almost $80 for a place to park without power and water. However, we remained positive and to our delight we found an amazing little place at the pony club, 5 minutes out of town, water and power for only $30. Happy little chappy's we were indeed. The caretaker was so lovely and extremely easy going, the kids had massive paddocks to run and burn off energy, lots of stables and gorgeous horse jumps shaped and painted as Thomas the tank engine to play on!
So camping out of town a bit created the perfect atmosphere for us of an evening, quiet, peaceful, no noise or beaming city lights. But during the day we most certainly enjoyed exploring the lovely Yeppoon township. Yeppoon lagoon, skate park and playground was of course the kids favourite! A great facility provided by the Shire. We spent a good portion of both days here.
I could not believe how high the rope climbing frame was at the playground! As an ex rock climber and abseiler I almost felt like I needed a harness on and a rope attached to me, although, since becoming a mother I must admit I do have a healthy fear of things now😉. My children on the other hand, have no fear! Climbing to the top and swinging from the ropes certainly had my heart going. But the view was pretty spectacular and it was a great place to give our kids some practical learning skills.
Now that's something I never got a chance to do pre-kids!! How exhilarating would paragliding be!!! And over the road! Maybe it's something I'll have to try one day, I can imagine how tingly my feet would be. Yeppoon was so lovely, wish we could have spent an entire week here instead of just a weekend. But next time we're in the area we will definitely have to relax on those beach lounges a little longer.
Oh my! Your kids just scared the hell out of me. They are so brave!
Haha, yes they are daring and adventurous! Both their parents are adventurous so we can only expect it from them😆
That climbing pole is crazy high for kids!! You're right they have no fear at all, isn't it great to be kids!!
It sure is! They loved it, didn't take them long to get to the top.
Is this actually the paradise on this tiny blue planet? 😍
Wow, looks like an amazing place, I would be the same happy as your children are :))
Yes! We live in a stunning country, so much variety, I can understand why lots of people have discovered this town and made it a city.

I do wonder what my reaction would be that high up in the sky... I can not even stand on a stool without feeling woozy. Hahahaha. I see you all had fun... Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I used to stand on the edge of 100m high cliffs and not give it any thought at all, since having kids I noticed I get a little nervous when it's over 10m 😆 we really did all have a lot of fun. Thank you
I like these deckchairs by the sea so much, I don't understand why so many seaside countries in Italy fail to copy from Australia.
They are great! I imagine they would be very popular over there if they were there.
