Oh I totally agree with you. I doubt that anyone who thinks being popular in school is a guarantee to having the best future/life. As a matter of fact, most popular-in-school people tend to botch life later on. Unless the popularity is in relation to academic or sporting talents.
It's good to have stories like this out there, as an encouragement to others who may not be as strong as you. High-school is really just a phase that can easily be left behind, or harnessed into a positively formidable "weapon."

I've noticed that popular in school doesn't relate to popular or successful later in life as well. Sometimes it correlates but so many times the reasons a person is popular in school has no relevance in an adult environment.
