I like such days for only gathering together with beloved ones, as you said socialising, but not for religious aim.
You and your wife seem to have been prepared very well, lucky guests. May dish-washing and cleaning the house be easy later on :)

Never been one for religion, but I do like to eat and any reason for good food and socialising is welcome.
