Often times I can't tell when it's the weekend because every day seems to be the same. I have the same routine and barely ever leave the house. Some days I don't even step out the front door and I lose track of the days.
Even when my days seem similar, the weekend has it's own vibe, you feel it in the atmosphere and it's more relaxed. My ideal weekend is basically one where I get to be a couch potato and at the same time go do something fun outside. It could be eating out, going to a park, a pool or driving around town.
There are a lot of cafés and restaurants around and I love trying out new food and drinks. Sometimes I love the food, other times I hate it but what's important is I got to try something new. When I'm home, I love to watch some comedy or drama on Netflix. I also read some fiction too.
There are meals I look forward to making during the weekend, one of them is moi-moi, a Nigerian meal popularly made on Saturdays because of the long cooking time. I do a little meal prep on weekends also but nothing serious. Weekends are mainly for relaxing.
This weekend started well, I tried out a new restaurant with my husband today and we both had coconut rice and shredded beef. I had mine with a virgin mojito and it was the most filling meal.
We got back home in a hurry to meet up with #hivefest but the internet connection has been so bad and it's been a struggle. I couldn't meet anyone when I finally logged on but I hope to when I try again tomorrow.

The food there looks delicious! I, too, now like trying new food every now and then. Though it's never guaranteed that the food will taste good, at least I got to try it out.
It was so delicious
Food looks amazing!
My days also look the same lately - it's nice to break the routine sometimes by going out for food, drinks, coffee... I like going for a walk by myself as well. :)
That's great, walks are a great way to destress.
Oh my, I would have loved to partake in the digging into that food.... Looks yummy.
Sorry about the bad network connection.
Tasted yummy too 😋
Awwnn... I miss out on the enjoyment 😌
Your weekend started so and it is always nice to go out and experience new things.
When it comes to food, I like to think think that I'm adventurous with food but I'm also very picky about it. I can eat any Chinese or Korean food (or at least try). But throughout my stay in Hausa land and now, Yoruba land, I've never summoned courage to taste any of their local dish.
Heheh...
So you mean you've not tried amala and ewedu yet?
Like you though, I'm both adventurous and picky. I'd taste it but end up wasting food. The only Hausa food I've tasted is Tuwo shinkafa and that was two years ago. I didn't really like it.
Nice...the fuck is a mojo jojo tho..? But nice
It's a minty tasting cocktail that slaps. But this is the mocktail version cos no alcohol.
Uhhh...nice...my last leave I'm coming to Kaduna sha
Expecting you!
