Hello my amazing Hivers! How are you? I hope you're doing well. It's @xavierariz and I'm back again with another story to tell.
Hello everyone!
In this blog, I'm going to share with you another spontaneous swimming hangout on a budget. Well, here's the twist: it's not going to be an expensive tranquil experience at a beach. In fact, this spontaneous swimming hangout didn't even happen at a beach. I mean, where else could it be? Drumroll, please! We went swimming at a port! Have you tried swimming in your local port or Pantalan? Before you react harshly and offer hygiene-related criticisms, I'd like to mention that the area where we went swimming was actually designated for swimming, and there weren't any dirty garbage piles around. Anyway, do you want to know what really happened? Come along and get ready for the most spontaneous swimming hangout you've ever heard about!
Remember my last blog? If you haven't read it yet, then maybe you should give it a chance. My last blog was about the opening lights ceremony at the City of Bogo. I left before the lights were even turned on – what a disappointing night out! My mother and my partner's family advised us to head home early, warning that tricycles might no longer be available. We followed their advice exactly. Although I went home early, it wasn't to my own home, but to my partner's. Isn't that sweet? It was sweet actually, but I can't deny the anxiety of what might happen.
The morning after the opening lights ceremony, I wanted to go home, but my partner insisted that I stay longer. To be honest, I had become close to her cousins and her little sister; I liked it. It was already 1 pm when I overheard my girlfriend tell her cousin that we should all go swimming at the port. I hesitated at first because I didn't have any extra clothes, but for my partner, it wasn't a problem; she said I could wear hers, and it was no big deal. So it was settled; next thing I knew, we already had many snacks that we didn't get to eat. The port is not so far away from my partner's home, however, we all still decided to have a ride.
We did a lot of walking before we reached the designated swimming area. As we walked, I was amazed by a broken and abandoned vessel. To be fair, I'm unsure if it was actually a ship, but it certainly looked like one!
Upon arrival, we put down the snacks and admired the view. There were other people there too, since the area was designated for swimming. When we arrived, we saw one of my partner's cousins, and he was so cute. The moment he saw my partner's little sister, he came running and shouting, excited to see her. He even greeted me with so much joy! As the only non-swimmer, I enjoyed the shallow water while my partner's cousins dove like crazy. It was fun to watch. However, despite playing it safe in the shallow area, I was still clumsy and hit my foot on a rock. It started bleeding, but not excessively. Now, it hurts every time I walk.
Few moments later, we then decided to finally go home,it was so cold and it started raining, too! And just like how we got there, we then rode a tricycle for an easy trip. Overall, it was really fun experience and we even showered together with them too. Such a great moment to remember. This spontaneous swimming really proves that we don't need much money to have fun, we just need to right people.
