Actions speak louder than words. Week 209.

in Weekend Experiences6 months ago

Nice day friends of the Weekend-Experiences community. In this new week @galenkp shows us interesting topics as always. Some topics generated great expectations and several brave people addressed them openly. But the topic that captivated my attention is related to bragging or boasting about my accomplishments.

We all have different skills, we just have to focus on what we want and try to learn as much as possible about what we like so much. Talent comes with the constant practice, effort and dedication we put into learning an activity. Therefore, we can all shine if it is our goal. But that does not mean that we are constantly boasting about our achievements. That only shows low self-esteem and in many cases lack of knowledge. If you spend all your time praising yourself, How are you going to learn new things? Besides, far from winning friends or admirers, you will only drive people away from your side. No one is interested in the company of the "super me" or "me, the best of all" individual. That type of person is to be pitied and at some point it becomes annoying to be in their company.

That is why I choose modesty. I prefer to let the result of my work speak louder than my voice. Let people be the ones who prefer my services without the need to highlight my certifications and honorary titles. I focus on doing my job in the best possible way. Always with an open mind to knowledge and learning, as everyone has some knowledge to pass on.

If you want to stand out from the rest, show respect when doing your job. Try to offer the best possible service, where quality is paramount. Be kind, listen attentively to those who seek your knowledge and satisfy their needs with updated scientific support. Always be modest and humble. That way, the result will be grateful people who will come back for your services and recommend you to family and friends, without the need to brag about your accomplishments.

Yep, yep, rather than bragging it, might as will improve ourselves more and let them notice the achievement you got on their own. You really have a point, but there are some too who brag because it makes them feel good and at the same time, they want someone else to be inspired of their achievement. Well, as for me, I do brag but not that much, I only do it coz it makes me feel good (≧▽≦). Hehe

We are all proud of our achievements. It is normal to talk about our skills, especially if it is to contribute to the training of new generations. What does not look good is to brag excessively and make everyone around you look bad. Thank you very much for reading my post and leaving a nice comment. Greetings and blessings ☺️

A wise man said:

"Be your own spectator. Seek your own applause."

And that was the great Seneca, one of the leading exponents of Stoicism, a philosophical current that I follow and study, as I resonate with much of what it puts forward and need it to evolve spiritually.

I totally agree with what you're saying here.

Very nice commentary and very true the words of Seneca. We must focus on ourselves to be better every day, the ego only generates suffering. Thank you very much for reading my post and as I said, previously, thank you very much for your nice comment. Greetings ☺️

There is definitely something to be said for modestly doing a good job and being proud of it. Sometimes a person needs to toot their own horn, so to speak, but it can definitely be done without bragging.

It is natural to take pride in our work. Talking about our knowledge in order to pass it on, as a way of teaching, is very common. What does not look good is to brag too much. Thank you very much for reading my post and leaving a nice comment. Regards ☺️
