Our world is going rapidly in technology and lots of technological developments have been attained ranging from Robotics, Automation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc and more are still coming.

AI is the ability of a machine, robot, or computer to be able to do things that ordinally can be done by humans as it requires human intelligence. The intelligence is mainly focused or centered on problem-solving, reasoning, learning, and the use of languages. Tasks performed with or by AI machines are always very accurate, fast, and reliable.

The word or term AI was coined in the year 1956 and since then Artificial Intelligence has greatly advanced due to the advancements in technology, data, and computing power. As of 1960, the US Department of Defense got interested in Artificial Intelligence and started to train and develop computers to perform basic human reasoning. In the year 2003, intelligent personal assistance was introduced before the popular Siri or Alexa were introduced. Popular samples of AI include AI autopilots on commercial flights, spam filters, mobile check deposits, self-driving cars, facial recognition, voice-to-text features on mobile devices, etc.

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) TECHNOLOGIES

Artificial Intelligence greatly depends on the following technologies which greatly influence how it works.

  • Machine Learning
It is also referred to as ML as it enables a machine to be able to make decisions and provides solutions based on its past experiences and uses algorithms to learn from data collected over time. Which helps in reaching conclusions very fast and making better decisions. Machine Learning (ML) is categorized into three which include:
    • Supervised Learning
    • Unsupervised Learning, and
    • Reinforced Learning.
  • Computer Vision
This is a technology that enables the machine to be able to see, and it is also compared to human eyesight but a machine vision can actually be programmed to see beyond what human eyesight is capable of doing. It captures and analysis images or other visual pieces of information through a very good camera then uses the output of its analysis to make decisions. Image Recognition is also achieved with the implementation and use of computer vision.

  • Deep Learning
It is regarded as a subset of Machine Learning (ML) which processes data then uses it to create patterns for use in machine decision-making.

  • Neural Network
It is all about imitating the human brain and making machines work and reason the way the human brain does.

  • Automation
Artificial Intelligence also involves the use of automation in performing repetitive tasks and also performing tasks traditionally done by humans using or based on lied-down rules.

  • Robotics
It is a field in engineering that deals with the design and manufacturing of robots. Robots are generally used in lots of fields and also used to perform several tasks that are considered to be dangerous and difficult for humans to do. For instance, robots are used in manufacturing companies or industries and are also utilized by research and explorers like NASA. Some robots are AI-enabled as they utilize machine learning and other AI technologies to interact with people and the environment.

  • Natural Language Processing

INDUSTRIES THAT UTILIZES ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

AI happens to influence or been applied in lots of industries and fields such as:

  • Health
  • Logistics
  • Manufacturing
  • Banking
  • Automation
  • Blockchain
  • Education
  • Security
  • Law
  • etc.
