personal.community devwork - Day 03/30 - using profile json metadata

in Programming & Dev4 years ago

30-Day challenge for working on

https://personal.community/

todays work was based on removing duplicate info essentially... previously personal.community profiles were duplicating a decent amount of info that is included on the profile json metadata, like name / title / website etc... i removed basically everything from the personal.community profile update that wasnt included in the main profile json metadata. This leaves interests (tags and communities), favorite users, and a bio / about me section. Eventually I'm hoping that personal.community type profiles can compliment the #introduceyourself type posts... but we'll see.

tomorrows devwork should be adding tags to new posts... currently they only do a "blog" tag, but we'll see how the todo list pans out.. ;)

commit :

What do you think

should personal.community profiles use all custom info or make use of existing profile_json_metadata? My initial thoughts when starting the project was to have blokz/profiles completely standalone as far as info, but somewhere along the line my mind was changed.. let me know.

nice work, now fix the top of page link so it doesn't cover the reply button on personal.community ;-)

... and probably dont talk to yourself, even if it is to test commenting on personal.community. ^>^

And don't reply to your own comment.

LoL, I should figure out unittests and shit....

Do it. Testing is its own slew of fun.
