My Love and Care Brought Him Back to Life

in The Ink Well3 days ago

As a woman, I must take good care of my immediate family, especially in times of trouble.
I had always spoken greatly about my husband and would not stop as long as love was involved. My love and care, as well as comfort, brought him back to life.

Last year, my husband was in a place of work where no love was shown to him. He had worked with all his heart, and no love was shown despite the countless help he had rendered to his immediate students. Most people always say, “The teacher's reward is in heaven." I don't believe this, as teachers would work to see their student's success and yet still suffer.

Anytime my husband is back home from his place of work, he is always feeling a headache. I was suspecting the fact that he was always shouting and talking from morning until evening. Anytime this happens, I do buy him medicine for headaches. Each time, it has not been an easy task being a wife.

One day when he came back from work, he was feeling weak and something I could not explain. I tried to ask, but he said it was just a fever. I went to the chemist to buy him some malaria and fever medicine. He took it, and yet his body temperature was burning. He was unable to get up from the bed, as getting up was like a burden to him. Likewise, he was exactly like a newlyborn baby who everyone would take care of. I never backed down, but instead took proper care of him. I was ready to show him the best love ever just to make him feel comfortable. Not only that, but I tried to open the door and windows just to keep the house ventilated, but that was my choice. He was burning and yet still covering a load of clothes. He wore a cardigan coupled with the T-shirt he wore inside. Likewise, he also asked me to use a wrapper to cover his body. I used about three wrappers to cover his body and was still cold. I was very upset and did not know what to do. I tried to take him to the hospital but he disagreed with me.

We have a nurse who we always take our kids to any time they are ill. I immediately woke my husband up and asked him to go to the nurse's place for a check-up. He did that accompanied by me. When we got to the nurse's place, she said it was a typhoid fever. She gave us typhoid medicine for a huge amount of money.

My husband had to take the medicine and was feeling better a bit. I was feeling happy somehow that he was relieving gradually, but after that day, the worst happened. His body temperature increased yet again. We went to the clinic, and the nurse checked his BP and found out that it was a little normal. She gave him blood medicine and some medicine just to keep him normal. It was just that day he started another phase of high temperature. I was confused and shattered. That same day, when he came back from the clinic, my landlord had to tell the nurse that my husband's body had changed. The nurse had to send another nurse to check on my husband. When she came, her reaction got me crazy, and I started crying. The nurse who came to check said there was nothing they could do as they were unable to discover what was wrong with my husband. I started crying to my peak. My husband asked me, “What did she say was wrong with me?” I was unable to disclose it, but he figured it out and said those nurses do not know their jobs. “Don't worry, my dear wife, I will be fine." Instead of consoling him, he was the one consoling me.

I was taking care of him as well as showing him more love than ever. The next day, he stood up and walked to the shop. I was surprised to hear him say, “I'm hungry." I had to prepare him food, and he ate. He ate more than my expectations, and I was happy and extra excited seeing him eat.

Instead of feeling cold, his body temperature was normal, and he needed a fan to calm him down. I had to put in the generator and make him calm his head and body.

It was a good thing seeing my husband up and sound more than ever. The nurses do not know their jobs. They had written my husband off, saying there was nothing they could do, but then my husband fought it hard and stood up with the love and care I had shown him.

Sometimes those nurses cause more anxiety unintentionally, especially when they can't figure out what the problem is. I'm glad your husband feels better and the family is back to their happy lives.

Nurses can be harsh at times. Sometimes I'm scared to say I'm a nurse because the notion some people have about nurses isn't pleasant

Thank God he has a loving wife like you

Some nurses make you wonder how the earned their license. Thank God he is okay.

Thank God your husband is fine and back to his feet. Much love from here. ❤️

Love, the action that heals and repairs ❤️
