Jackson left school with good grades, yet no job. For three years he squatted with friends, when kicked out cos he wasn't contributing, he moved to another friend.

He was so broke and desperate to get a job because even his girlfriend is mounting pressure to leave him if no marriage is in sight.

"*Will you marry me without a job"? *He asked.

"Marry me first, we will manage". She responded.

"But I am squatting in a friend's house"? He lashed out.

"Marry me and move into mine". Proposed the Lady.

One afternoon while taking a nap on the couch in his friend's house (the last place he squatted), he heard his friend and the friend's father who was visiting, gossip about him.

"*So this guy that has no job, but eating in your house says he wants to marry"? *Papa asked.

"Yes papa, don't mind him, I know he won't marry and bring the wife to my house. Imagine, he is moving into a woman's house. He is just heading for doom". His son replied

Jackson heard this and woke up and said, "you both are not my God. I will make it".

His family and fiancee arranged the wedding. He had no money. A night before his wedding, he got an invitation for an interview. What would he do because the set date for the interview is his wedding day.

Did you know he went for the interview with his wedding suit? He took along his wedding IV and the reception program. He got to the company early and begged them to interview him first, because he will be married in a few hours.

"Wow, impressive. You busted your wedding for an interview? You risked getting into marriage without a job? You are dogged, we need someone like you"

That's it, he was hired. He happily went back for his wedding and moved into his wife's house afterwards.

However, just six months after resuming the job, the owner of the company said he is closing up and going back to his white man country, rendering everyone jobless again.

DO NOT GIVE UP

He began searching for job again. Meanwhile, he did menial jobs to feed himself and his wife. He did laundry for bankers when he found the light in his area was good, but later joined builders to work as a helper where he acquired building skills and went into estate management.. Today he has his own personal house.

No one knew he was making plans to travel abroad with his family. One day the news came to come stamp his passport.

He needed more funds to add to his savings, he tried to talk to a few friends but those who saw him as a great hustler here in Nigeria and already envisaged his progress abroad not only denied assisting him, but also tried to discourage him from travelling.

But nothing is extraordinary for God to do. Help came from people he didn't expect. Especially from those he had built houses for due to his past record of honesty. Today he and his family lives abroad.

What about his friend who said he was heading for doom? Jackson has been the one caring for him and family. He even assisted him to bury his mother when she died. Now that they have moved abroad, Jackson has invited him to move into his house free of charge but to take care of it while he is away

  • There is nothing extraordinary for God to do.

  • No bad condition is permanent. Relief will come.

Thanks for coming around.

Jackson's story is inspiring. He proved himself to be a hard-working person, and he did not want to get married and move in with his wife until he was ready and had a steady income. Those are good traits! And he even cared for the friend who didn't believe in him.

I know some writers like to provide the moral lesson at the end of their story, but I encourage you to let your story tell itself, @adoore-eu. :-)

When there is a lesson provided by the author, it is kind of like the lights going on in a movie theater when you are still enjoying the film!

Thank you for the kind words and the correction. If the main point had stood out, there is no need obviously. I got that, thanks

A very interesting read…it’s however better to avoid marriage until you’re financially stable.

I couldn't agree more

It depends on how you see it. What if the people is financially fit but loses his wealth after marriage? Thanks for the visit

Motivating to read but let’s all be mindful of the kind of risks we take

😆 thanks for the visit. Life is all about risk. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I agree perfectly. Thanks for sharing your comment

You're welcome 🤗

The young man was really determined and he believed in himself which is the key thing. Once you stop believing in yourself, you will lose it all.

That is very true. He believed and worked so that God would have something to bless
