I've always been a fan of stories that challenge the integrity of experience. How do we know if we are awake or asleep? How do we measure what is 'real'? Your story allows the protagonist to have a real experience that affects him, although that experience might be one that actually happened in a dream state.
Life is but a dream. Is it?
Interesting story.
Life is certainly a dream. It's just that type that feels WAY to real. But eventually, one has to wake up at some point. We all will.
