Hi people, I have come to share the story of two inseparable lovers, Cynthia and James. This duo are all head over heels with eath other and their friends could not but wonder what make their bind so strong. After few years of of dating, James wanted to travel outside their country to seek greener pastures but the fear of not returning to marry his lover gripped Cynthia's heart and they decided to conceive outside wedlock just to promise each other and to give assurance of their reunion.
They put together all they had ever worked for, their savings and also borrowed from their friends and some loan Apps to process the travellings. Cynthia and James sold all their belongings including their wardrobe, fan, fridge and T.V set, because they had being living a couples kind of life, even when they had not been officially betrothed to each other. They sold all they had and were joyfully awaiting James' visa. The D- day finally came, James had his bath, dressed up and looked his best. Cynthia couldn't hide the joy on her face. She was so happy to have caught the most handsome fish in the ocean. James was just exactly her dream; a tall dark and handsome man. So, James set out that morning for the capital city to collect his Visa and they waved to each other with some words of prayer.
Tick-tock! The time kept flying, Cynthia was so anxious to hear the good news from his husband but his number was not reachable. At 4pm, Cynthia's phone rang and she quickly picked the call, thinking it was her husband, but it was just a random call from a loan App they borrowed from. Reminding her the mode of payment and when the payment would start. Cynthia angrily hanged up the call, throwing the phone on the bed, went back to pick it up to call her boyfriend but the number remained unreachable. It was then done on her that the only choice left was to pray for God to keep her husband and bring him home safely. Neighbours could not believe the prayer was coming from Cynthia's room. They had never heard her pray that much since they rented the apartment. This time, she was not even praying alone but crying along this made the neighbours suspect that something was wrong. At a point, Cynthia became conscious of her environment and decided to lower her voice before people started knocking her door to know what happened. Speak of the devil, Cynthia heard a knock on the door. She quietly wiped her tears with the tip of her wrapper. "It's nothing", she echoed from her room. The knock came again, I said, it's nothing". Cynthia responded. The knock persisted, and she angrily went to open the door. Alas! It was James. "James!" Cynthia screamed and hugged him excitedly but he could not utter a word. He was denied visa. Cynthia couldn't even wait to hear the story , she broke down in tears, sobbing profusely.

She was already pregnant, lots of debt were already on ground, she had not finish her education and her parents did not even know she was pregnant. All hope was gone. She actually thought she would use James' travelling abroad to convince her parents and win them over but things only went sour. They were only able to keep the pregnancy five months from their parents. James eventually became scared when the delivery date became closer. He started wondering "what if...?" He knew he couldn't hide the pregnant woman in the house any longer. Cynthia was so scared of how her parents would react to the news. They eventually decided to visit James' parents who later agreed after much insults and disgrace to meet with Cynthia's family.
It was a sad day in the community, the day they went to visit Cynthia's family. It was sadder than a funeral gathering because Cynthia was raised by a single parent who suffered so much to raise her. She and her elder brother were raised by their father, since their mother died at birth, immediately she gave birth to Cynthia. Cynthia's father and family loved her so much and expected her to do well and bring honour to her father but the reversed was the case. Since, Cynthia had disgraced the family nobody wanted her around and it was decided that he should follow James back to their house as the father couldn't suffer to take care of her, and then her unborn child. James took back his girlfriend home. She stopped however stopped schooling and that was the end of her education.
James continued his schooling but eventually fell in love with another woman.
