I think the time of the Vietnamese war was a desperate and difficult time for most people on both sides of the conflict. The indecison of the then American government made the war to last more than necessary, costing a lot of lives and property. It good to hear that your husband was part of it and that he survived. I will say turning his experiences into a book is a good idea and no doubt the book will be an interesting one. I wish you success on writing. My husband was not 'political' before he went to war. He did what he was told. He didn't want to go. War was certainly an education. After we were married, he always said, no son of his was ever going to fight.
