Annie and Ellis were my high school mates and from the very day I saw their chemistry, I knew they were a match made in heaven.

It all started one day when Ellis came to school very late and had to be disciplined for that.

Mr Timi the teacher on duty brought his behavior modifier (a.k.a as disciplinary rod) to lash Ellis.

Annie was standing right beside me as an assistant punctuality prefect and the next I saw was tears rolling down her eyes.

In amazement I asked.. "What's wrong Annie, why are you crying?" She kept mute and focused her gaze on Ellis.

Being a girl with a high emotional intelligence, I understood what was wrong.

"Don't tell me you're crying because of Ellis.. " My hands were at akimbo and in defense she responded. "I'm not crying because of him oo,"

"Then why are you crying?" Mr Timi snapped back at her.

"It's personal." Her response was abrupt as she wiped her eyes off leaving just I and other prefects at the school gate.

Mr Timi held back from lashing Ellis that morning but gave him another punishment. He was asked to pick the trash on the school premises before heading to the classroom.

At 8:15am , class commenced but the two people missing were Ellis and Annie.

"Where is Annie and Ellis?" Mrs Hoose, our Biology teacher asked in curiosity. Before she could send one of us to go look for them, Dora the busy body of the class had gone out to look for them. She found Annie assisting Ellis in picking up the trash. "Ma, Annie is downstairs with her man," Dora said sarcastically and the class teared up in laughter.

"Something that will not last, it's just part of adolescence," Mrs. Hoose reacted and demanded she joined the class immediately. "Leave love and focus on your study, there's actually time for everything." She faced the class and resumed her morning advice session as that was part of her rituals while we all waited for Annie and Ellis to join the class.

"Drums roll.. Give it up for the best couple in town," Dora the naughtiest girl exclaimed as Annie and Ellis walked into the classroom.

After the class, the lovebird became the topic of the day. Annie and Ellis admitted that they both had a thing for each other and that they've made plans to attend the same university after high school.

They kept to their promise and eventually tied the knot after university as I was part of the few people they invited to their wedding.

It was such a beautiful moment to see my classmates staying in love after so many years. It wasn't just about puberty as Mrs Hoose had claimed but it was as though they were made for each other.

When they had their couple dance, they held each other and looked into each other's eyes with so much excitement. Their dream finally came true and when the Master of ceremony asked the groom to kiss his bride, he made it a show for everyone to see. "I love you endlessly" Was written all over their faces and it was a memorable ceremony.

Their love story didn't end there as they began to choke the singles with their love story even on the media.

A year later they had a baby together and she looked so much like her father and after the next year, they hardly shared their love story online.

At first, I thought parenting was tough on them and they needed to focus on their new responsibility. But that wasn't the case, the perfect match made in heaven finally went their seperate ways after three years of being together and it was really sad.

The school group went crazy when they heard about it. One could never believe that these two could ever live without each other but we had no idea about what wrong behind the scene or closed doors.

Trying to please the onlookers would have been detrimental to their mental health, I guess that's why they chose to end everything. Mrs. Hoose might have been right in a way, well that an issue I have no control over but all that mattered was, their love story was beautiful while it lasted.

What a beautiful love story, certainly love relationships during adolescence are often short, but the lessons they leave us with last a lifetime.

You're right. Thanks for stopping by

Well...a love story that ends on a sad note. Could it have been mere affection between Annie and Ellis and not deep love? Hard to tell. Nonetheless the story of how they found each other is delightful. Marriage, you know is just more than mere feelings, you'd have to love both the good and bad of your partner. It's a complicated institution, marriage. There's a lot we don't understand about it yet.

Thanks for your story.

I think I'm of the clique that believes that what we feel in our teenage age isn't real love. But your story made me believe otherwise. Nice one.

Lovely story yes many lover ended up that way

Their separation was quite sad but their love story was epic.

A love story that was not eternal, but that left a mark on both of them in their souls and even though they have separated from each other, they will carry that memory in their minds.

Thanks for sharing.

Good day.

With how beautifully you described the wedding, I would have never guessed the shock that came after such happiness. This was a great read, @amiegeoffrey.

I was expecting a happy ending, but it's fine. Not all love story end happily.

I wish it ended happily, thanks for sharing

I've been hearing this kind of stories it happens but it rare, I think what got them seperated was a serious issue

There is a question I'm intrigued to ask??

Is teenage love Okay?
Would you allow your child enter love as a teenager?

Apart from this though, I belive marraige is a different ball game entirely... Because somehow it's no longer about feelings, It's about commitment. And when that is one sided there will be trouble...

hi.... this story has a beautiful beginning but ended sadly. I don't like sad endings.
However, the story was captivating it is as if it should not end. well done

I think their love wasn't really that deep, or they didn't work hard to grow it, well it can happen to anyone.

Love is deeper than teenage feelings. I admire you lets be a thing the flow goes and suddenly you fall out of love all of a sudden. Love is pain.

We would never disregard how love made us feel while it lasted, a beautiful love story with a sad ending.

Good one for the lovebirds who knows what they want and follow through.

Good to see that end up together. Nice exposition.

I was enjoying the love story hoping it was going to end with a happily ever after, well it's just so sad, not all love stories always have a happy ending.

This is touching, I was expecting a happily ever after kind of ending but it was a tradicomedy story. There are still so many stories like that out there but can one say there was no love in between them from the start because a stronger love wouldn't make them seperate.

I was happy it ended well , only to be hit with their separation. My heart break , maybe they were not match made in heaven after all
