While growing up, I love to gaze up at the sky and take note of the beautiful sky, the birds, and their melodious tune. I also loved the sun, I took my time to observe how the sunsets majestically especially during different seasons, some days the sun is golden and big and the rays shine brightly, other days I get to witness a rare type of sunset where the color changes from purple to different types of gold and I enjoy the smell of the earth after it rains. (Petrichor).
How the wind makes a rustling sound back and forth and how the palms whispered, where I found solace the most was at the beach, the waves of the sea made me realize what a brilliant creator there is, and most especially the cool breeze that comes from the sea and how endless the sea seems to me. The atmosphere was always serene and I could easily connect with the beauty of nature, the music it brings to mind, and the creator.
Meditating on Nature's gift made me appreciate the simple things of life but then I dread one of nature's beautiful gifts which was the thunderstorm.
I remember when I was very little, one night I was in the room alone, my siblings were all watching their favorite channel when it began to rain, I was excited as I stood up from the bed and stood beside the window stealing glances at the sky and how the wind would move the coconut trees in our compound from one direction to another, even the flashes of light until something scary happened.
I was close to the wall when a fearsome thunderstruck, I was so scared that I screamed and ran out of the room, unfortunately, the light went out since it was raining and my siblings just slept in the sitting room.
I was used to hearing how thunderstorms struck wicked people and how they died and I grew up learning that one who stood beside a wall during thunderstorms gets electrocuted please don't ask me why I ran oo😃😃😃 after all I am not a wicked person.
Since everywhere was dark, I just froze where I was when the light went out and started to cry until my dad came out of the room with his flashlight, he embraced me and took me to his room since I knew my hero was right beside me, I endeavored to go to sleep.
Up to this day, I still dread thunderstorms and I just can't seem to take the myth story off my mind, however, I still love the beauty of the clouds and I never fail to acknowledge its beauty, whenever I sense how beautiful the clouds look I endeavor to take some shots of them and as for the beach, it's still my happy place and I still visit it.
Images are mine and shot by me.
I have the same mentality till date but mine is that I do not like standing close to any electrical appliances or glass.
Haha, yes that glass too😀😀😀😀
