Chidinma is from a poor family; Chidinma's parents always struggle to give Chidinma and her siblings a better life; they suffer a whole lot.
At age ten Chidinma was already hawking food items in the markets, then during weekends she went to hawk snacks in the traffic, this was the same with her siblings, and they were expecting that one day life would be a little bit rosy not knowing that There is no rose without a thorn
At age eighteen Chidinma was done with secondary school and needed to go for a higher education, but there was no money.
Chidinma's mother was a determined person likewise her
father, so they were determined that they would have at least one graduate in the family who would help them live a comfortable life.
Chidinma spent more than three years at home working so hard with their parents just to save enough for her education. Finally, they gathered some money, and Chidinma got admission to Abia State University. Everyone in the family felt that change was coming.
Chidinma studied medicine and surgery which was a lengthy course, but the parents didn't bother. Life wasn't easy, and getting her school fees wasn't too easy for them; during holidays, Chidinma came home to help out in the farming business the parents were doing then.
Every day, Chidinma would promise her parents to just keep exercising patience; one day, everything would get better, and they would have some rest; she never knew what was going to befall her.
During Chidinma's final year, she meets with a lecturer who falls in love with her and wants to marry her, on hearing this good news chidinma's parents are so happy and they were
hoping for a brighter future.
Her first thorn.
After a while, the fiancee decided to take Chidinma to meet with his parents for a proper introduction, in Igbo land it is a culture that the man brings his proposed wife to the family, and if the family says they don't like the woman it will be very difficult for that marriage to hold, even if the marriage holds there will be little or no love between the new wife and the husbands family.
Immediately Chidinma and the fiance got to his place; the mother started asking some questions like "Where are you from?" And she replied "Am from Osisioma.", The finance mother said "Ah, your people are always disrespectful, I don't think I will support this union..", Immediately Chidinma started crying and the finance was just speechless.
After so much argument and convincing words, the fiance's mother agreed but with a sound warning that if she misbehaves she will personally throw her out.
Her second thorn
Chidinma's wedding day was fast approaching and everyone was preparing to have a great day not knowing that there was a very big thorn in the 🌹 rose, just three days before the wedding Chidinma's father got a stroke and died, this incident took away the joy of that family, they have suffered a whole lot and it was time for change and the father wasn't available to witness such change.
The big shock.
The day for the traditional marriage arrived and it was successful. Tho the father is no more, but they have a little bit of happiness in them.
Chidinma had fibroid all this while, and the husband advised her to go for surgery so that she could bear children after marriage, Chidinma accepted, and the day for the surgery was fixed. Also her wedding day was around the corner which would be after the surgery.
Chidinma's mother seems happy but is still mourning her husband and is scared over what Chidinma is about to do (the surgery).
After the surgery, Chidinma had some complications, she had intestinal adhesions, intestinal obstructions, and sepsis, all these complications were to complex and she couldn't make it.
This was so heartbreaking. Chidinma's mother couldn't believe her eyes, and chidinma's siblings couldn't understand the whole situation, it was very sad news for the family.
After the burial, Chidinma's family thought everything was over but something happened.
After a year, Chidinma's fiance came back and proposed to Chidinma's younger sister, at first, it wasn't that easy for her to accept the proposal but after a lot of convincing reasons, she accepted and they made plans for the wedding.
Before the wedding date, she was already heavily pregnant and the mother was very happy, it was like a compensation to all her losses in life.
This man is very rich, and he loves Chidinma's family so much that he gives them a comfortable life that they have never experienced before.
