Appearance sometimes doesn't really define someone to the fullest, and sometimes how long doesn't count rather how well counts.
Life experiences has proven that Not the Sharpest tool in the shed Ezinne proved all of us wrong.
During my senior year in college, there was this girl called "Ezinne." We had not been with her always. She had just been admitted to our school not quite long ago, so we didn't really know her.
In appearance, she looked soo sluggish, and we concluded that she wouldn't be intelligent, so she only had but a few friends.
After School, Ezinne will take hours just to pack her books and place her seat where it should be. Everyone will leave the class. Ezinne is still packing her books.
We kept on wondering why she was like that, so one day her mother came to the school to see our principal, all of us rushed out to see if the mother was behaving the same way but she was a different person
We all were waiting to see how she would cope during the exam period because we always had a time set for exams, and immediately the time was up, the exam was over, and no extra time was allowed.
Finally, exam time came, and we were all waiting for what would happen and how she would cope. She's always slow in writing and in everything.
Infact I personally approached her and told her that she had to sit up but her reply shocked me, she said with a very low and sluggish voice saying "Don't bother yourself, when we get to the bridge we will know how to cross" I left her side shamefully.
Other classmates were making gist of me, and that made the whole situation worse, I was so upset and was waiting for that exam period.
During exam the first subject we had was Economics which was a difficult subject that has so many calculations, we were given just 1hr to finish up.
I was looking intently at Ezinne, she was just as slow as usual, and in my mind, I thought she would never finish before time, and that would affect her scores we all thought she would fail and repeat the class.
Immediately it completed an hour the teacher ordered us to pass our paperwork, she was still writing, everyone has given their work to the teacher before she stood up and said "Sir please am sorry" The teacher (Mr Enya) already knew that she a slow person so he just collected her paperwork work and left the class.
We were just murmuring within ourselves, we said she wouldn't pass this exam if she continued this way.
From the second day to the last day of the exam, Ezinne was always the last person to pass her paperwork.
The exam is over and we all are waiting for results with the mindset that we are leaving Ezinne behind but the reverse was the case.
Just two days before we vacated, our results came out and it was time to know how we all did during the exam.
We were all surprised when Ezinne was called as the one who got the second position out of 55 students in the class, me the adviser I came 6th, then it became obvious to all of us that we thought she wasn't clever and intelligent because of her behavior but she proved us wrong.
We decided to know more about Ezinne, upon investigation we found out that she's a carbon copy of her father who was the minister of education then, so she was as intelligent as we can't even imagine but was just slow and sluggish in nature.
Ezinne continued to be the best student till we all left college, and till date, I don't judge people by their looks or behavior anymore.
By this description, Ezinne was naturally sluggish not that she was not brilliant, maybe like the proverbial Tortoise and Snake. They look sluggish but very intelligent.
Honestly we were just looking at what she was doing not knowing she was a very intelligent person
Ezinne surprised all her companions, she was slow but very intelligent. Have a nice day
There were so many peeps like Ezinne when I was in school. I think they are not sluggish but it is just that they like to take their time while doing something
