Some people have step mothers who they are very proud of. Perhaps some women are naturally nice and kind so irrespective of whoever gave birth to you, they'll still treat you like theirs. But my case was different. I had a step mom and a biological mom.
Mom and dad got separated when i was two(2) years old. I lived with my mom together with my brothers until i was 15. Didn't really understand the meaning of maltreatment until my dad came for us. We were taken to the village to school, and i was thrown into a boarding school. One particular Holiday, it was a christmas holiday to be precise, my dad sent for me to come to the city for the christmas. My uncle took me as early as possible to the park, i got into the bus and arrived at my dad's home. I could sense from her countenance that She hated me instantly but couldn't make a conclusion as to how my step mom wasn't interested in welcoming me. I quickly said hello my step siblings ( three girls and a boy), and admired their beauty and glowing skin. My dad wasnt around when i got there, so my step mom told someone to take my bag of clothes from me. She brough out some used clothes from her daughter who was two times fatter than i was and told me to wear those till i leave her house. I asked why and She said my clothes could be carrying bedbugs or some village spells and She doesnt want bad luck in her house . I'll twist the skirts whenever i wear them, and cover my waist with the big blouses. I was aways looking like a maid in the house and even outside the house.
One faithful day, my dad brought us all outside the compound to have fun , my step siblings were on their bicycle while i was sitting with my dad, He was showing me some funny videos on his phone. I was excited and i didnt realise that her kids had gone inside the house. While sitting out there with my dad, she sent someone to call me inside, as soon as i opened the door to enter inside the house, She gave me a very confusing slap on the face. I didnt realise what i did wrong and She said, "so you want everybody to know that He's your father, thats why you sat down there pressing his phone and didn't realise that play time was over". She told me to kneel down until she's satisfied. I was on the floor when dad came in , they got into arguments and my dad said " stand up" . She threatened to stab me with a knife if i stood up, and so i just stayed on the floor. My dad drew me up and took me inside. Woke up the next morning and found that She had burnt my bag of clothes. I cried so much that i begged to be returned back to my mom.
The eve of christmas, was the day i returned to the village. My dad couldnt protect me, neither could he comfort me. My mom called my uncle's wife to say hello to my brothers and i, as the phone was passed to me, i burst into tears and i begged my mom to come pick me. I was already falling sick, and my brothers were worried too. On the 31st of december, that same month, as early as 7am, we had a knock on the door, it was Mom. My joy knew no bound as i cried and hugged her for minutes. She listened to everything my brothers and i had to say and she said to us, " you kids are going with me, and even if its the last wrapper i have to sell to take care of you, I'll sell it".
My mother's words sounds like sweet perfume, very appealing to the ears, makes me feel Snug As A Bug In A Rug. She will go to any length to protect her kids. We went back home with her and we were happy.

Woahhhh, happy your mother eventually came to get you, it obvious your step mother was not ready to share her space.
It's heartbreaking what you had to endure at the hands of your stepmom. I'm so sorry you had to experience that, but so thankful that your mom was strong enough to come through for you and make you feel safe and loved again. Nothing like a good mother's love to make one feel snug as a bug.
